I see everyone's reason for exploiting the cave basically equates to them being bored of the actual game and rather not get their loot by playing it straight because they're tired of the mechanics. So... You want your loot so you can do what with it...? Will you finally use it to play VoG which is basically everything you complain about not wanting to do x10? You do know that every update that Bungie puts out for the next 10 years is going to be some variation of Strikes/Raids/Crucible/Patrols that you are currently shooting into a cave as an alternative to doing, right? I have plenty of legendary items, I don't get them every day but they come at a fair enough rate and compared to other games with loot systems, they are ridiculously easy to get. If you were playing a full fledged MMO, to complain that you only have 2 fancy items after playing for 2 weeks would be ludicrous. You'd be lucky if you had 1 in your inventory after 2 months. Therefore, the fact that you had to break down and play in a style that requires all the skill of a todler just so you can show off what you have in your inventory in a game that already has one of the most easiest attainable rare items I've ever seen is just weak, dude... WEAK. And you know what the funniest thing about it is? Once you parade around the tower in you lamely begotten plunder, thinking you're impressive, guess what - nobody is going to look at you twice because the shit is so easy to get, we all have it already or will have it soon, even without cave farming! Only difference is I'll actually be putting my loot to use playing the actual game while you complain it's too hard/boring while you sit at the tower, dressed for the party with nowhere to go. Then, even if you have the balls to actually try the content that gear was made for, good luck putting all the skill you aquired shooting into a hole full of level 5 mobs to use. But hey, if you paid $60 so you can shoot fish in a barrel for 5 hours, enter your lottery tickets, and then dress up your dolly so it can look pretty, more power to you.

  • You sound jealous. And ignorant. Lol Dont like how we gear up? Stfu and play the way you want to play, and we'll do the same. Except we aren't gonna spend 20 minutes writing shit like this crying on the Internet. Lol

  • Yeah, I'm so jealous of you because for some reason, my game won't let me cave farm like you and I want to sooooo bad... Back to reality - You're lame for shooting into a hole full of noob spawns to "earn" access to higher level stuff. But feel free to come up with another reason that allows your medicine to go down easier. That's on you.

  • (Slow clap) The major problem I have with cave logic is in thinking the game is all about loot. I play Destiny to have a little fun after a day sitting behind a desk. Doesn't matter if I have the best loot at this point; that will come with time. I'd much rather spend my time shooting through hoards of enemies. If I happen upon some great loot while doing that: even better!

  • You make far too many assumptions. Many people, those even who have already completed the raid, the first 7 teams, have farmed the cave and other places, hell the streamer from one of those groups, I am watching him right now and he's farming. Its something many people have felt necessary to do due to the way the loot drops in this game and how unrewarding it feels to participate in other aspects of the game, when looking for loot. I mean farm in any MMO and what? You suck? No, its common place and skilled polayers do it to gather the loot they need so how is it an example of skill? Its not and you have no idea what you are talking about. Stop getting mad that other people aren't playing exactly how you feel they should be and are still on par with, be cause they are, skilled players.

If you think I'm mad about it, you're the one making assumptions. I'm just saying it's lame. You don't have to be angry at something to recognize that. If you wear your underwear outside your pants, I'm going to say it's lame also but it's not going to make me mad. In an MMO, farming is based on intentional scouring for items you need. There is no scouring here. You go to one spot, you don't move, and you shoot at an exact point. That's alot different from combing a general area of a map and killing certain spawns to collect what you need so don't give me that crap excuse. And as for the people who did the raid and cave farm, what's your point? I still see it as a lame tactic. They got frustrated because they couldn't manage the raid without super gear, took the easy way out and did something they knew good and well was infinitely below their skill level to exploit a broken system to get super gear to compensate for their lack of skill. Taking advantage of a broken system might not technically be wrong but when you know that shit shouldn't be that easy and probably wasn't what the devs intended, I still don't see how you can feel proud about stooping to that level.

  • -In an MMO, farming is based on intentional scouring for items you need. There is no scouring here. You go to one spot, you don't move, and you shoot at an exact point.- From a different prospective, I actually farm the cave for mats to upgrade the gear that I already have... blue engrams have a chance to role accended mats as well as strange coins... and if I happen to get a legendary, it will likely be broken down for said mats that are needed... I don't do it all day, I go do my bounties, some strikes, all the other activities for that given day... then after all that if there is time left in my day, I farm the cave for mats...

  • Do we tell you how to play your strikes? Do we tell you how to dress? How to eat? No we don't so go -blam!- yourself and stop moaning at people for playing a game how they want to. If you want to attain your legendary gear in strikes, be my guest. Others don't see as much point in spending 20 to 30 mins running the same boss mission over and over using there effort to be rewarded with little or nothing all the time, where as they can take an easy method, which takes a lot less effort to get their items, so they can get to a good level to take on the new different challenges like raids which are meant for higher level players. By saying they should earn their items by doing strikes above their level and failing, your effectively saying that because they don't do it how you do it, they shouldn't 'be given the opportunity to participate in the events which are updated that they also paid 50 quid for like everyone else. Stop telling others how to play their own game and carry on with your own methods to earn your gear.

  • "Look away, I don't tell you how to play the game properly!" You know how ridiculous you sound? You try to explain your situation like you were pitted with some unique handicap. I went through the same damn thing. I just kept playing the content that was at my level until I made it to the next level, then guess what - I played that level of content until I made it to the next. Most days, I could give a crap if legendary gear drops for me, I'm just working on maxing out what I already have. And don't come into this forum to participate in a topic and tell people they have no right to speak their mind if it doesn't align with your agenda. That's dumb as hell. You're the one who put it out there. Not my fault you're not getting the encouraging words from the rest of us that you sought. You're lame, what you're doing is weak. That's my opinion - Deal with it, ya bitch.

  • Aren't you a contradicting little whiney bitch? firstly, actually read your own post. You were the one who decided to call other people's choices lame and weak? However it was you slating people off for having a different method to yourself to gear themselves up. And does the fact that you played the same strikes over and over show anything different? No. It shows you did the same shit you're calling everyone else for, repetition. Secondly, don't quote if you can't even remember the words you fool. Shows you have the attention span of an eleven year old if you can't remember 2 lines, never mind the context of them. Get off your high horse and shut the -blam!- up :)

  • Yep, I came into a thread where some dude tried to justify his reasons for exploiting a well intentioned, but poorly implemented system and told him my opinion that it was lame. Why? Because he opened discussion on it, you moron. Then you're going to tell me that even though it was a topic for discussion, I shouldn't say my piece because you don't like my words? And oh, you don't like my paraphrase of your argument? That's pretty much what you said, no matter how you slice it. I just condensed it into a neat package for you. P.S. Go play Disney Infinity. I hear its difficulty is around the level of play you like to be rewarded for.

  • What other purpose is there to farming for gear at the farm cave? I've done it. I'm guilty. And I did it to level up my cryptarch so he will yield better loot and possibly get some good loot in the process. Which I did. I got a legendary machine gun. But I actually enjoy playing the game and then quickly went back to actually playing. I doubt I'll hit up the farm cave again. Just doesn't feel right.

  • Motes of light and coins are just a means to end just like me leveling up my cryptarch. In the end, it's about loot.
