Forcing PvE players into the Crucible

I love this game and have been playing it a lot... However, I recently picked up an exotic bounty for Toland's Legacy. After researching the requirements, I found out that I have to go into the crucible. WHY? I am not a PvP player. I would prefer to stay as far away from the PvP as possible. Why are you forcing us to go into the Crucible? It is not just this exotic bounty that is requiring me to go into the curcible. If I want gear from FWC, New Monarchy or Dead Orbit - I have to. I remember there was an article where it was said Halo was PvP and you couldn't do both PvE and PvP support. Now you can, so why are you forcing us into the crucible? The crucible part of the bounty gives you +25 for a Hunter or Titan kill and +75 for warlocks - however you are docked -50 if you die. I will never be good enough to get this bounty done. Eventually I will have to abandon this bounty. (EDIT: There are reports that the "death penalty" is no longer active, so it is just a kill grind - if that is true. I will update the thread when I actually try it for myself - Thanks subaqueousReach for the research). Bungie you have a wonderful game - JUST STOP forcing folks to go into the crucible. EDIT: Why so many attacking comments, when the PvE only players want to stay in PvE. It makes no sense to me that you want us in the PvP to bring down the team with our skills. All we are asking for is more options? I just can't understand why more options is being rejected. Update: I have both the Bad Juju and Thorn bounties so I started them both in the crucible at the same time. I have played 10 games of crucible and currently have a KDR of 0.91 and I am slowly getting both of these bounties done. I can confirm that the 10000 points for the bad juju does NOT contain any death penalties. So this one is simply a grind getting kills anyway you can. The Thorn 500 points in VOID kills does have dealth penalties and my KDR is not helping me get this one done very quickly. After 10 games, I will report that I still do NOT like the PvP. I will continue to struggle through it to get these bounties done. I still wish there were options of not doing the PvP. End update. Update 2: I have played 14 games in the PVP and completed the Bad Juju bounty. I am still working on another bounty to get 500 points in kills using only void weapons (5 points per kill and -2 for each death). As of the 14 games I am at 361 out of 500. I have stopped playing PvP until I can get better VOID based weapons. I am still not a fan of PvP and have no desire to play it in the future after these bounties are done. For those saying "I'm a PvP player, stop making me go into PvE", this is exactly why I am asking for options. You could easily require 25 wins in crucible matches instead of 25 strikes. Bungie has options to create bounties that are only for PvE or PvP - they don't have to mix the elements. End Update 2.

Think of the crucible like a guardian's true test. Screw killing aliens, don't you want to take down the most dangerous foes out there? Another thinking mind like yours. It's all about tactics, tactics require strategy. It is frustrating at first but you have to give it a legitimate shot, yes you will die a lot and it will take you a while to get your own tactics down, but once you start getting above 1.0 KDR it is easily the most fun you will have anywhere in the game. Things that really help improve your survival are: - Use cover! - Stick with teammates, yes some of these teammates may make mistakes, but your survival rate greatly improves if you stick together. - Understand what you're enemy is trying to do! If you see someone running towards you, most likely he is going to try to shotgun and/or melee you, if an enemy guardian jumps in the air he is trying to confuse you, etc, etc. Understanding what the enemy is trying to do helps you plan a counter tactic or attack. - Don't just spray and pray, take well aimed shots. - Understand your weapons recoil, this is super important! Example, if you use a pulse rifle it will almost always recoil up, meaning if you aim for the chest or neck you will get a couple of headshots in. - You don't need high level weapons for crucible. I run around with a level 12 Shingen-E auto rifle as my primary because of it's recoil and fire rate, I can assure you it is easily the best primary weapon I have for crucible only. I obviously don't use this weapon on story missions and strikes as this is too low. - Adjust your look sensitivity. I currently use a sensitivity of 4 because I cant deal with the high sensitivity on Destiny for some reason, but on COD Ghosts I use an extremely high sensitivity, every game is different. You need to find that sweet spot you are most comfortable in. - Use every weapon in your arsenal available to you to the best of your ability. You see an enemy taking a control point and have a nade? Throw the nade first before engaging the enemy, you might land a lucky kill or at the very least bring his shield down thus increasing your chances of killing him or her. Enemy shield down and out of bullets in your clip? Run and melee the bastard! - Timing is everything sometimes, you might NOT have this down at the moment, but understanding that and knowing to work on it will only improve your game. - Yes you will run into people that will piss you off and make you scream, "How the hell did he not die and of course I'm the one that died! WTF?!?!?!" Every player has these moments. Just remember it just makes it that much more satisfying when you get your revenge. - Practice makes perfect, or in this case will def make you better. You can't expect to be better than anyone at crucible if you haven't played, especially since these players have been polishing their skills as well. The sooner you join the fray, the sooner you can start getting better. IDK hope this helps, I know you want nothing to do with crucible and I'm not trying to convince you to do it, just giving you some tips to help you complete your bounty, and any bounties you might receive in the future. I got my ass handed to me in PVP but now I can hold my own, it just took a little practice.
