Tons of people are completely ignoring the fact that a majority of the story is being told through grimoire cards earned in game.

Correcting: Earned ingame, read out of the game.
-
That is called laziness in it's pure form. Bungievision developers can drop over dead.
-
Which is full of loop holes or simply puts the dialogue in writing.
-
Agreed. 1/2 of the story complaints would simply vanish if they took the time to voice act the cards and have a way to listen to them as you acquire them.
-
I agree. People say that's a bad thing... but is it? When I sit down to play Destiny - that's exactly what I want to do. The Grimoire cards are nice to read during downtime (when the mrs or kids want the telly, i'm browsing the internet at lunchtime or whatever). Yes, they could be in the game... but would I want to read them rather than jump into a Strike or the Crucible? Not on your nelly!

Check my reply about the grimoire cards I sent it to the wrong person in this thread

I didn't even know what the grimore cards were for until this comment.
-
The grimoire cards were a bad idea. That kind of story telling is only good after you already have a solid story established in game. For example, people love extra lore on the Star Wars saga; however, that desire to learn more originated from a story they loved from the beginning. Destiny doesn't have that connection established. Bungie should not have expected people to want to go online to learn about the story considering it is a new IP..
-
But that's not in the game. You have to go to the website to view them, which is a completely failed aspect of the game like Joe said.
-
For some people. He obviously isn't the target market. The people not coming to the forum to whine and instead enjoying the game on their system while using a tablet or smartphone to read up while playing or not are.
-
But don't you think that should be in the story within the game? It's just a lazy way of not adding detail to cutscenes. I shouldn't have to look up a definition of where the fallen/hive/vex come from. It should be told within the game. "I could tell you this, I could tell you that" is the worst thing I have ever seen for story building in a game.
-
*shrug* not for you then I guess. Some people are liking it...so should they change their design to suit the needs/wants of some over others - or should they stick to their guns and roll the game's story out as they have planned?
-
It's just a slap in the face to force people to get the DLC for an incomplete game when some people paid nearly $200 for it.
-
Has nothing to do with "forcing" DLC. Geez, what happened to America and understanding you vote with your dollars? If enough people didn't enjoy it the game won't sell many copies and will be returned en masse forcing nearly zero interest for the DLC's packs in the future. Servers will begin drying up and the game will die in short order. OR - people will enjoy the game so much they willingly spend more money to continue to advance the story and character-building.
-
First off I'm not American. Second off it absolutely is forcing you to get the DLC to further the storyline. It's absolutely absurd that people are defending the that idea. There should be a solid storyline to begin with! Not promise for better. Begin with a great game, not say the game is good but it will get better. It's ridiculous.
-
I'm referring to American free-trade market economics, not implying you're an American...god are people dense. Simply put, if it's not worth it to you - DON'T BUY IT NOBODY IS FORCING YOU.
-
"Geez, what happened to America and understanding you vote with your dollars" implies that everyone who got this game is in America.. You bet I won't be getting the DLCs until I see reviews.
-
Don't get me wrong I think the game is fun, I like crucibles a lot. I'm just saying this game failed in certain aspects and the story is definitely a huge one.
