YOU WANNA KNOW WHY WE'RE FARMING!!??
Because farming gives you the same amount, if not, more loot then you would in a strike or whatever. Why go through the trouble of constantly dying, leaving teammates, and bullet sponge bosses when you have an easier time getting 5 times the rewards farming the cave.
Don't deny it, YOU KNOW ITS TRUE!!!

2 RepliesPeople need to mind their own fkn business and stop trying to tell others how to play, I can't stand on the spot shooting mindlessly into a cave but I wouldn't presume to try to order others to play the way I want them to....that's just odd.

Yeah farming may get you more gear but it doesn't get you skill if all you do is just stand in front of a cave and press lt and rt. atleast when you go through the strike and crucible playlist you get gear an skills to play the game.

I don't farm because I like video games not slot machines. Seems some people only play video games for that reward system. I like the reward system but it's not why I play. Plus, the strikes are saturated with hordes of enemies. You still get tons of engrams either way.

I will deny it, it comes from random loot drops, which I get all the time, out in the wilds fighting the darkness. The game isn't designed to stand in one place shooting fish in a barrel. You have every right to do that, but you also have to deal with the fact that many of us true Guardians, don't respect it. And we have all the right! There's a fight for the very survival of humanity, and you're shooting a cave. I know it's a game but that's part of the game. Go play Candy Crush or something simple, people won't give you a hard time for hiding in your spawn trap. Or maybe just go farm your cave and deal with people looking down on you, because they're going to and nothing short of you leaving your cave and showing some real skill will change that. Luck mate!

2 RepliesOf course no body denies that this game needs to fix these glaring problems. It is laughable when players say they are having fun or feel fine farming a cave. It is as if they don't mind the glaring game design flaws and don't want any of them to be fixed.

I don't have a problem with the cave farming. Was there yesterday myself for the first time while doing one of the Queen's Bounties, but it's definitely not for me. I get more loot plus reputation plus marks doing strikes. What I really don't understand is how people don't die of boredom just standing there shooting at fish in a barrel. But if someone wants to, no problem, I might not get it, but they're not hurting anyone.

18 RepliesI see everyone's reason for exploiting the cave basically equates to them being bored of the actual game and rather not get their loot by playing it straight because they're tired of the mechanics. So... You want your loot so you can do what with it...? Will you finally use it to play VoG which is basically everything you complain about not wanting to do x10? You do know that every update that Bungie puts out for the next 10 years is going to be some variation of Strikes/Raids/Crucible/Patrols that you are currently shooting into a cave as an alternative to doing, right? I have plenty of legendary items, I don't get them every day but they come at a fair enough rate and compared to other games with loot systems, they are ridiculously easy to get. If you were playing a full fledged MMO, to complain that you only have 2 fancy items after playing for 2 weeks would be ludicrous. You'd be lucky if you had 1 in your inventory after 2 months. Therefore, the fact that you had to break down and play in a style that requires all the skill of a todler just so you can show off what you have in your inventory in a game that already has one of the most easiest attainable rare items I've ever seen is just weak, dude... WEAK. And you know what the funniest thing about it is? Once you parade around the tower in you lamely begotten plunder, thinking you're impressive, guess what - nobody is going to look at you twice because the shit is so easy to get, we all have it already or will have it soon, even without cave farming! Only difference is I'll actually be putting my loot to use playing the actual game while you complain it's too hard/boring while you sit at the tower, dressed for the party with nowhere to go. Then, even if you have the balls to actually try the content that gear was made for, good luck putting all the skill you aquired shooting into a hole full of level 5 mobs to use. But hey, if you paid $60 so you can shoot fish in a barrel for 5 hours, enter your lottery tickets, and then dress up your dolly so it can look pretty, more power to you.

Played Crucible last night... came in 1st.... everyone, and I mean everyone, got legendary Engrams except for me. FML! Went back to the cave and scored 7 blue engrams in 30 mins. Got Zombie Apocalypse and a Legendary Titan Mark out of it plus some blue armor and guns. That's why I Farm that glorious dark hole in Russia.

I've always been a hardcore RPG player, so grinding and farming is nothing new or strange to me, but what you're basically saying is: "Why actually play and enjoy the game, when I can just do the same thing over and over to get items?" Again, I'm not one of those guys that is against the whole farming concept, but the way you put it is the worst argument I've seen so far lol.

Personally, I find doing Strikes more fun than staring into a cave and shooting a few guys every couple of seconds. There's no movement. No risk. Nothing to get your blood pumping. The few times I do decide to farm, I run over to Venus, where it sometimes breaks out into all-out war between the Vex and the Fallen like some kinda sci-fi version of the Capulets and the Montagues.

No. I don't want to know why you're farming. I want you to either keep farming in your cave where I don't have to see you Gollums, or get out and play the darn game like the rest of us. Until then good luck finding your missing precious down there Smeagle.

I use the cave because I have job and a life and I can't spend a lot of time on the weekdays playing , but I can hop on and shoot in the cave for 30 -45 minutes and maybe get a little better gear for when I get to really play on the weekends .Exhibit a I farmed the cave for about 45 minutes last night and got 4 Legendary engrams and 11 blue engrams .
