I think this would be sweet!!!!
But it would have to be challenging, and more importantly, fun. Battling wave after wave of enemies might get repetitive, there would need to be something to keep it interesting. For example, each wave would be different, and every once in a while vehicles are dropped in.

But the better you do the better the loot which will attract people to do better to get legendaries and exotics (higher rounds/difficulty)
