What gear have you actually Earned?
With out shooting in the cave for 5 hours?
Iv'e earned.. the ghost angel cloak, The dust walker chest and boots, The prime zealot gloves from vault of glass, and the legend of the six coyotes from the speaker.

I think it's just something people who got in late do instead of strikes as if you started on day 1 you could have an entire legendary set of your choosing from marks alone by now. Dailies/weeklies are a much better use of your time for shards which is the only ressource that really matters.

I havent farmed once in destiny and i dont think on doing it

only things i have gotten are my currently equipped heavy and special weaps. i had 2 exo/1 leg special and 1exo/1 leg heavy before ever stepping foot near the cave though. i do it for the hopes of shards and maybe a damn primary weapon which will take another 2 weeks of mark farming to get.

I've earned the last word and Prestige IV from crucible and a blue drop. I bought all my gear lol.

I've earned all the gear I have excluding the crucible ones. Those were just sheer luck

I've earned all my gear without the cave. Got complete New Monarchy Armour (waiting for exotic helmet) even got lucky enough to find Suros Regime in a Strike on Earth when I picked up an engram. Check my gear out I'm pretty pleased with it all

All my gear. Has come from the rep/marks. Or purchased from xur. I have used the cave but rearly get a blue or purple engram I just uae it for exp for gear and mats for upgrades.

I've earned all the gear I have equipped. Any time I farm the cave I end up with gear for other classes.

I've earned all of mine because I had to buy them. The few days of farming I did resulted in ZERO loot I could actually use and the engrams from leveling the cryptarch were also terrible. Bought all my armor and also got legendary weapons from the message desk from leveling different things up.

Earned my gloves of the hezen lords, earned a ton of motes for the chance on my voidfang vestments, earned my unwilling soul by siding with dead orbit, earned the rest through glory in the crucible.

So far running total of 0/15 on purple engrams. Did get 2 coins. Nothing works for me. Played PvP, did well, and in 5 matches, i got 2 blue pieces that were garbage. My friend has played like a couple days more than me and has 7 legendary items including 2 weapon duplicates. It's insane...but I guess it lines up w/ my luck in every other mmo I've played.

I'd say I earned my Thorn. The last two parts of that bounty were quite hard. Can't wait for it to be upgraded.

I was able to buy the Sunbreakers from Xur, and the Nerigal Savant III boots from the Warlock Vanguard. Working on buying more from the Vanguard. Oh, I've also gotten TWO Titan Marks from Legendary Engrams. They give me reputation for New Monarchy and Dead Orbit. It would be a great find if the Cryptarch realized that I'm a Warlock and not a Titan!

The shadow price auto rifle, Dura-Gnt type 3 boots, armada type 3 gauntlets, and armada type 3 chest armor that's all my legendary gear I could go on for hours talking about my rare gear.

None of it. Since its random, I, and everyone else got lucky. When you get a rare item or legendary engram when you were the worst player in a match, you didn't earn that. Until they get rid of the RNG, no one is earning anything.

Everything I have. Even sitting in front of a cave for 10 hours for a legendary is earning it. That's 10 hours you aren't getting back.
