it's only a chore is you make it a chore. always have a patrol mission and glimmer boost for the foe in the area. otherwise go play crucible and get good gear just as random or do a strike and get gear just as random

That's the problem. The game was designed to be a chore. Destiny has a terrible looting system. I ran a strike mission and it took us an hour to kill the boss, right when we kill the boss a third player drops into the game. The third player had no kills, no assists, absolutely nothing and he got 2 blues and I got nothing.... So guess what... I was at the cave grinding making up for lost items. Terrible....
it's only a chore is you make it a chore
. It is a chore, a boring repetitive chore.
always have a patrol mission and glimmer boost for the foe in the area.
Which are repetitive and dull all the time.
otherwise go play crucible and get good gear just as random
>Implying the reward system works
or do a strike and get gear just as random
>Implying the loot system works.

don't farm then. it's not required. this game is random as all hell. it sucks for people who don't get lucky with the rng system but unless bungie plans on not making destiny a mmo anymore, it's not going away. I don't know if bungie is the kind of dev who will bend to the will of people who are upset with their game design. I have a feeling if they were to "improve" the loot system, they would only buff the possibility of better drops a by a small amount. but it's more likely they will make them less likely the more efficient people get with the farming. I totally get this style of game isn't fun to alot of people. it sure isn't broken. but it's only going to become more and more like a mmo as time passes. they want this to be the new WoW.
-
No, it's decidedly boring to play through the same areas over and over. I'm not the problem, the game being boring as f*** after level 20 is.
-
Except all of that is a chore after you've done it seven hundred times each. I mean patrol missions? Just endless A to B fetch/kill missions is fun to you? I mean it doesn't matter how much of a glimmer boost the Grimoires give for doing them, when they make me want to drive a pen into my eyes doing them in the first place they are so tedious. Crucible is one of the worst PvP games I've ever played in any game. It is so boring and my god it is laggy as hell. Stikes are fun the first few times you do them. I've done each one so many times now I can remember them off by heart. Pointless boring crap. They had better come up with some new content pretty soon or many people are going to start moving on to other games. Most of those people won't come back either.
-
What PVP gane are you playing? I've experienced little to no lag. If you get lag it's your connection's fault. Not the game.
-
Yeah my 36MB/s open network connection that is perfect in all parts of the game except Crucible is the problem.
-
So people leave after they bought the game. Oh wht a bummer
-
It's cool that you place no value on your own time, but I'm not spending hours and hours to get ONE f***ing legendary. I've got a life outside of Destiny.
-
You dont have to spend hours. YOU need to decide if you are willing to spare your time and take the time running dailies and bounties or you can try to keep up with people that spend countless hours in game. I guarantee if you try to keep up you will remain frustrated. If you play the game at your own pace it will not be so difficult on your ego
-
It will be a bummer when the population is dead right before Christmas this year.
-
That's not even an exaggeration. They're getting piles of this game at any place that takes trades.
-
I believe it.
-
I have my 6 friends. What does the rest of the population have to do with me?
-
So your six friends enjoy doing the same crap over and over?
-
Edited by Dannystaples: 9/21/2014 12:21:05 AMBecause when Bungie abandon the game completely not even your six friends will have much fun. They plan on making this last ten years, why would they do that if there was no population? They wouldn't they would just stop making expansions for it.
-
dang man. no faith in the bungie devs at all. they have their face and reputation. of course they will support their new baby
-
Because when Bungie abandon the game completely not even your six friends will have much fun. They plan on making this last ten years, why would they do that if there was no population? It's also breaking trade-in records. "Another one?" Is becoming a common question at GameStop. A week from now you won't be able to give this game away because the shelves are already full of used copies.
-
awesome. I hope so. I can drag my brother into destiny with me for cheap. he already knows this isn't his style of game and is on the fence about buying it. but to get it on the cheap would get him in.
-
It's also breaking trade-in records. "Another one?" Is becoming a common question at GameStop. A week from now you won't be able to give this game away because the shelves are already full of used copies.
That just means different people will play it
-
LOL. When someone sees 20 copies of a used game on the shelf less than 2 weeks after it came out, it's not a positive sign and won't inspire much confidence in anyone with half a brain. The negative buzz about this game is hard to miss. I enjoyed the game up to level 20, but at this point it's a chore. I'm far from alone in feeling this way. I want to love Destiny, but the game needs a lot of work.
-
that happens to every single game that Comes out. lots of casuals out there or players who run through the game once and trade it in for the next one and repeat. ADD gamers
-
Edited by Luna Scythe: 9/21/2014 3:20:50 PMLOL, tell yourself whatever you want. The trade in rates for this game are at COD Ghosts levels. I know guys who work in video game retail. The game isn't fun once you hit level 20. The reviews are mediocre, and people are trading it in left and right. If the reality of the situation doesn't sit well with you, I can't help that. There's a good game trying to exist here, but it needs a lot of work. It's as simple as that.

I agree, the game is not that great, even if the combat is addictive. But to say it wont have a user base? Evento killzone have people to PvP with
