Its simple really.......we kill the Cryptarch.
Strange coins, motes of light, ascended materials.....anything but a rare from a purple.
EDIT: Just got Crest of the Alpha Luppi from an exotic engram from the vendor. The cryptarch has somewhat redeemed himself.

Hey now, hold on a minute... Don't kill the cryptarch, I love him! Have him on rank 2, decrypted 3 blue engrams I got from a Strike, and he was so pleased with me, he gave me a legendary. That's right folks, if you kindly ask him to give you something nice, he can give you The Conduit even if he's only level 2! And now let me enjoy my happines ;)
