I don't care how "legit" you think you are...
Eventually you will farm. It's inevitable. You will sit in front of a cave or in a small area or in front of some mighty doors and you will pour thousands of rounds of ammo into enemies until you get what you need to get/upgrade your legendaries/exotics. You'll do it in your big boy pajamas. You'll do it fully clothed. You'll do it in your tighty-whities. You'll do it eating food or listening to music or drinking a soda. Either way, you'll do it and you'll like it... all night long.

Nope never have. I heard that engram percentages are trash so I never have. It's cute that you think you're clever for just assuming everyone else does though. I hope it makes you feel less guilty for doing so.

20 RepliesNever have in this game and never will. Farming is worthless. Do your weekly raid / heroic / nightfall. Do strikes and bounty. Farming is entirely worthless. Unless I dont have anything better to do.... Which never happens because i do happen to play other games.

Holy crap ! Farm... dont farm... people are going to do exploits. People are going to patrol earth for an exploit even though your level 25.... when you "exploit" a lower level enemy to get higher grade things then go into PvP and kick ass... that's because your a chump without that high end gear. That being said however, it is what it is. Other people don't play the game to experience the game. Some people play games just for the gratification of beating somebody else cause that all they have in their life. That's the only true sense of achievement they can get . I say let them have that warm fuzzy feeling for 5 minutes. If we don't agree with farming or exploiting then let's find others to play with who don't use cheap tricks to get ahead. This game has seriously been out for a little over a week and people are crying because they aren't the best with everything unlocked in the game. But hey maybe its just me.... I have experienced literally just about every platform because I love games more than I love "having it all" . I appreciate the time and dedication it takes for somebody to design every aspect of this alternate world . The time, talent, effort and imagination it takes to inspire millions just doesn't mean what it used to. This generation is seriously just so used to the next big thing . Everything is bought , used and thrown when the next "greatest thing ever" comes out. Its sad if you ask me. But hey, like I said, maybe its just me.... after all i still have my original SNES , games and controllers from when I was a kid. let's see you farm killer instinct kids.

I actually really love farming. Thrawls and Acolytes are fantastic, they make the finest wool and milk. I left some in a cave in the cosmodrome, I can't find them, has anyone seen them? I sure hope that they haven't gotten lost.

farming is for noobs like you. you are the type of person that probably wanted a trading system like the one from borderlands so you can duplicate things. Ive gotten all my gear legit.

Will I farm? Yes. I've already done it, and I'll be doing it tonight once I get these two crucible bounties out of the way. However, you use the cheap method, or as I like to call it, 'Chinese farming'. I play strikes and do patrol. It's infinitely more fun.

11 RepliesNope. I will never farm illegitimately (using exploits). I play the game as intended (running Strikes/Patrols/The Crucible) to complete bounties, farm materials/chests, and kill along the way to get my Engrams/Loot. [spoiler]Have fun being a Chinese farmer :D[/spoiler]

6 Replies'farming' is a term for repetative activities undertaken to aquire cirtain things. XP, meterials etc etc, not just a term given to people stood out side of a cave. If you have sat and done a strike playlist, played crucible to get crucible points. you have 'Farmed'. no one that is higher than level 22 has not farmed. Done the weekly? thats farming for strange coins. Honestly people if you think you can play an MMO/SRPG without farming you are sadly mistaken.

2 Replieswell then the entire community isn't "legit" cause the entire game is a farm, the bountys, getting exp, doing crucible or strikes for hours on end, doing a spinmetal route on earth to upgrade your gear. all of that is technically farming, I can se almost the whole community in destiny is nothing but a bunch of shooter fan boys and have never played a real MMO before.

It truly ruins the game for you because you begin to think its the only way to get items even though its not enjoyable.

Eh, I don't think farming isn't 'legit', I just don't get satisfaction out of it, so I don't do it. At some point I may really want to rank up or try my hand at getting a new weapon, and I might just farm for a while, but getting everything I want ASAP isn't how I like to play my games. Just my two cents.

2 RepliesTechnically you always farm if you do a Bounty, Patrol mission or simply crucible. It's all a big grindfest. Technically when you normally play and kill enemies on the way to your target, you farm.
