To all people farming the Earth Hive Spot
Please stop being rude. Let me clarify something so we can all enjoy this spot while it is still available.
1. Back up. If you are standing next to the rocks by the ship, you are too close. You need to be right where the World Event spawns to be efficient.
2. Stop being dicks. Share the spot. It doesnt matter who kills it. as long as you are in the area you can get drops. No need to melee or step in front of someone.
3. Don't go in for ammo. If you run out, stand still for 30 seconds and your primary ammo will replenish. Go get something to drink. The less time you spend picking up ammo the more chance you have of a drop.
4. Take breaks! This can be tiring. If you are tired and others are there, just go do something else. It will stop you from being anxious and let others farm efficiently.
5. Pay attention to gestures. If you see someone walk in front of you and point back, it means you are messing up the spawn, or you are doing something wrong. People don't take time to do this without reason. Don't just stand there. When I see someone too far up, I point first at them, then towards the back. Just try to pay attention to what others are telling you.

34 RepliesPsshh, you guys can have your engram farming. I do just as good on my circular Moon loot chest runs, minimum 7-8 chests every time and they can include strange coins, ship blueprints, even gotten a handful of legendary engrams.

Best thing to do for people that don't pay attention is invite them to fireteam, then tell them with a message or chat. Works for me 9/10

2 Replieswhen doing patrols and i get the kill hive creatures modes and in that area i have to stand over by them so i can finish my task. And i'm always getting shot at and punch for actually playing the game. And if i've got the collect tusks mode i'm going into the cave for finishing my mission be mad all you want. Don't care if you want to shoot a cave for hours but when i'm patrolling and i need that area i'm going to use it.

It doesn't matter who kills it? So can someone get an engram drop from someone not in your group killing it? Didn't know that. Guess I should stop being a dick dancing in front of the cave until i'm the only one there haha...

I think your wrong about #2, at least when not in a fireteam. Adding up my daily loot loads from the cave over the last week for both periods where others are present and solo shows a higher amount in quantity and quality of engram yield when solo by about 25%

3 RepliesPersonally I don't view this as farming. Go to the Venus Vex/Fallen spawn and actually fight the things once they leave the spawn point. That's farming. Spraying bullets into a cave to kill stuff before it even has a chance to move is just beyond lame. I mean it's almost the exact analogue of shooting fish in a barrel. They need to periodically spawn 2 or 3 high level shriekers behind the camping spot.

Or you can just do the first Moon mission on heroic difficulty and make things less of a pain for yourself.

Ohhhhh...That is what they were doing....I ran into the cave....sorry... I think people still don't get that you get your own drops, your own money, your own ammo. This means YOU are the ONLY ONE who sees it in YOUR screen. I can't see that blue orb on my screen...So making people mad just because.

There's nothing wrong with going for ammo, when one person rushes up everyone does. They refill and pick up engrams to empty the cave and everyone starts again. Also sending a kind message is enough to get people to back up so they're not disrupting the spawn.

You know that saying, "You're barking up the wrong tree?" There are about 5,000 trees in that area that are all wrong, in this situation. This is a shared world. Unfortunately, this also means you get to share the world with people who will make your experience irritable. Know how to fix that problem. Don't give a -blam!-! Can't farm because some kid is ruining the spawn? Don't give a -blam!-! Move on! Find another activity to do. You may find this odd, but the "suggestions" you made (albeit constructive and, honestly, not bad) can greatly apply to yourself as well, when these "miserable" situations arise. I've had better engram drop rates spamming the Daily, Weekly and Level 24 Vanguard Strikes in a 3 hour period than I did in a 3 hour period at that dull and drab cave. There are plenty of other activities you can be doing in this game.

is this what the bunch of guys where doing I did wonder I could not work out why five guardians where constantly firing into a cave. I play a lot of mmorpgs and regular rpgs and this kind thing is a little sad but if that's how you want to play and spend your time then have fun shooting at that cave . I will just play destiny and continue to enjoy it .... ciao

There are actually two spots on earth that the hive spawn. One is by the helicopters and the other is by the broken ships which are level 20's
