I agree. My biggest lore questions.
Who created the Vex?
Why?
Where do the Hive come from?
Who is there "god" they worship?
What words have the they seen fallen to the darkness?
Where do the Cabal come from?
How did they become such a militarized group?
Why are the fallen broken up into houses?
What caused them to split?

The Vex are most likely something from the future going into the past - considering their relationship with time. The Hive are most likely something to balance out the Light of the Traveler, considering they want to kill the light so much in their "crusade". Probably a lot of worlds have fallen to the darkness. The Cabal most likely came from their home planet. I mean, y'know, duh. Think of the Roman Empire, but with space ships. I have a hunch that when the Servitors wandered upon the Fallen and promised them eternal life with Ether (which gives them eternal life) in exchange for matter, that was how they plunged into the darkness. They gave up everything they had, and when that wasn't enough, they took it. It went downhill from there. These musings are all provided from the story as well as the grimoire. Have them as you will.

People think the majority of the 5 years spent developing this game went into design and gameplay. While I say it's obvious a great deal of time was put into the art side, at least 60% was writing.

Oryx is a mysterious Hive entity that is believed to be the master of all Hive sects and the source of their powers. While the nature of this entity is unknown to the Guardians, the name Oryx appears often enough in Hive rituals that it cannot be ignored. oryx is an ancient dark god. he is the hives lord, crota is the first of the hive. crota is the king of the hive, he leads them to battle and make a path for oryx. i don't think orx is the darkness, but a god of darkness.
