Maybe the vex realize that by changing the past they may not exist? The vex are by far the most intelligent creatures introduced so far, if they realized this why would they try to destroy themselves? It sounds like, of course the vex should just go back and kill us, but obviously there's a reason, also I think the black garden is the only place a guardian can't get healed by his/her ghost.... Yes I know there was that dead guardian on the moon but he had lost his ghost, so there was no way to get healed anyways... And maybe the vex know this and know that the darkness could wipe them out if it wanted, or maybe not.

The conundrum of time is always the devil in the details for discussions like this and as such to be the Devil's advocate, on Venus, with the ruins, Ghost says how the ruins "predate humanity by billions of years". It sounds to me like they existed before we did, or at least had the potential to. Either way our existence, so far, has little effect on theirs for what we currently understand. For all we know they could be that ancient, or they could have been made in the future and built constructs billions of years in the past

  • Yeah I know they are made from organic material, as well as machine, they could be millions of years old or 100 years old, I know time travel is always tricky, but I also agree with a post on this that maybe they don't travel back because without the travelers light, they have no need to kill us.... As cold calculated machines I would think if there isn't a need there isn't a cause, what do you think of the cabal? Do you think they are just conquerors? I know every race was drawn to the traveler right?? I wonder if it's just the energy of it...

  • The Cabal are kind of gray water to me to be honest. I'll best try to explain my beliefs on them- we know that the opposing forces get their powers from the Darkness and we mainly see Cabal forces with powers in the form of Psions. I am unsure if the Cabal themselves have too much pride to use powers or if they really do use them but it's just ingrained in their tech ie the interceptor is a solar vehicle( this assumes the Psions are a different species which I personally think they are). We also know that in our case, Warlocks "learned how to wield the light of the Traveler". This may be dissecting it too much, but I think it's one thing that the Ghosts use light to bring us back, it's another thing that we had to decipher how to manipulate the light beyond reincarnation, in other words that statement, taken literally, means the Traveler didn't exactly give us our super powers but instead we had to figure out how to wield them for the rest of us. I'm half and half on that but so I can answer your question let's assume that may be true, on the opposite side of the spectrum, the Cabal may have had to figure out how to use the light from the Darkness as well and once they figured it out, used it for their own selfish desires of expanding upon their empire. I believe that to be true. This is because the Darkness' goals and the Cabal goals merely align at this point in time, both would have to wipe us out for their goals. This also explains why the Cabal are fighting with another agent on the Dark, the Vex, on Mars. Both sides want to expand so on Mars we are seeing what happens when an unstoppable force meets an immovable object, but as long as the Cabal stay away from the Traveler's light, the Darkness should leave them alone in my opinion. I hope this helps.

  • Yeah the cabal for some reason interest me, not much is known about them, but they are this overwhelming force with the biggest military i believe in the game, they have the biggest guns, biggest tanks, biggest ships....I also wonder if there's a reason the cabal aren't on earth the moon or Venus, the fallen aren't on mars, the hive aren't on Venus or mars and the vex aren't on earth or our moon.... I know it probably has no meaning other than, the developers just didn't want all 4 races in one place... But how cool would that be to have an event where everyone is going at it lol....

  • Once again I'll see if I can at least answer some of that. You know, I know, the Cabal themselves know that their military is not to be trifled with. We don't know what's up with the Jovian planets yet so let's say Mars is the last planet in our system for now. The Cabal started there and they won't progress until they have secured it for good, the Vex are in the way an while it may be logical to just skip Mars, I think their pride is on the line and don't want to admit defeat. The Fallen don't go past Earth I think because that's where the Cabal are, they are already fighting the Vex and Hive on two fronts I don't think they want to risk pissing off a super power since they aren't as strong as they were speculated to be. The Hive I think started on the Moon(?) and are only in Earth an the Moon since that's essential where humanity originates, and the Hive are Darkness incarnate, they exist to solely kill the light from the Traveler and it's users so they only need to be localized to Earth and Luna I believe. The Vex turned Mercury into a machine so Venus is their next stop, we also have a bit if Fallen there slowly down a tiny bit and of course ourselves. As to why they aren't on Earth as well, lore wise, I don't have speculation for, I'm sorry to say

  • Yeah I could see where the cabal would want to dominate one place before going to another to conque, but i view our solar system as ONE PLACE, because of how quickly we can get around... Their whole civilization is built upon war as far as we know, and the fact that the fallen are just scavengers makes me wonder why they are even fight any other race why not just come in when the fight is over and pocket the spoils lol or at least thats what I took from their grimoire cards... I think the biggest threat to everybody.. And can't wait for the expansion to tell us some more lol
