Post Your Connection Issues/fixes Here - Home Networks

I have seen many of these threads, but it seems that most of the posts are just people ranting and complaining. I will say that I am quite guilty of that as well, and my patience is growing thin, but I think we should try to provide Bungie with more specific information so they can get our issues fixed as soon as possible. Please post your specific issues in here, and try to keep it short-ish, to the point, and present it in a professional manner so they don't have to comb through garbage to find what they could possibly need. I'll start by saying: I'm on the Xbox 360. I am on my home network. I get mostly just BEE and CENTIPEDE after entering any game zone. I can sit in orbit and stare at my ship for hours, but even entering a mission, strike, crucible match, or the tower nets me a BEE error within 2-10 minutes. I'VE HAD THESE ISSUES SINCE DAY 1. I've tried all the workarounds mentioned on this site (NAT Type, opening ports, QoS, disabling flood protection, DMZ server, static IP for router and console, hard resetting everything multiple times, deleting system cache, deleting and reinstalling the game, using a VPN, going wireless and wired, and multiple combinations of all of these) Any help/reply would be appreciated. We must keep hammering them until we are heard. Also, pass this around the forum: http://arstechnica.com/gaming/2014/09/eight-days-later-bungie-leaving-disconnected-destiny-players-stranded/ ^This is getting ridiculous. We are not a tiny portion of the community.

  • My problem, though it's not major serious. It's just that I can't see my ship whilst in orbit or in the loading animations where the ships flies to destinations. I'm on xbox1 and there not any real issues with connecting to the game. Any suggestions?

  • I have already posted this in a couple of places. I will post here again to increase the viewer base. After doing some testing on my network I contacted my ISP. We were able to find the culprit for my Cattle Error. It had to do with the packet routing. Who ever was handled routing table for the outgoing traffic probably had something messed up. My ISP switched were there outbound traffic was going and I was able to connect immediately. This is because the internet traffic was taking a different path to the Destiny servers. My buddy who lives in the same town and has the same ISP, was also having the cattle error code and this fixed his problem as well. So you guys might want to call your ISP and see if they can switch who they are routing their outbound traffic through. If you are using a larger company for your ISP , for example Comcast, just have them look into their packet routing for destiny. Those of you who have a smaller local based ISP might get quicker results. I hope this helps someone. If you have any quests please feel free to ask and I will answer them to the best of my ability.

    • I rarely have problems with disconnection issues on desiny servers, like once every two days, but my problem is that I can't matchmake with anyone. My friends can join me and I can join them directly but as soon as I'm alone the destiny servers put me all by myself. I'm lonely, and tired of getting my ass whooped by legions of enemy AI.

I had a bunch of Currant and Hare, early Sunday morning. I could get logged in and to Tower just fine, but I'd get errors when trying to go to a planet or shortly after being on the ground. The errors continued after work on Sunday night. I did the recommended port settings on my router (wifi). I noticed that my NAT was blank on the PS4. I reset the connection on the PS4, it now shows NAT-2 and everything seems to be working.

      • I have comcast internet and I'm using a router/modem combo from them and their firewall was blocking my connection to destiny servers. Disabling the firewall on the router is a temporary fix. Anyone else with comcast internet please confirm.

i Believe i have discovered part of what makes all this shit happens, as we know destiny require some ports on router to be opened wich are Destiny Port Range Direction 7500-17899 (TCP) Outbound 30000-40399 (TCP) Outbound 35000-35099 (UDP) Inbound and Outbound 3074 (UDP) Inbound and Outbound some internet providers simply DON'T ALLOW this ports to be opened. Yesterday i call their support at my home, and the central and the technician said that's for policy they do not open this kind of ports for security reasons. SO BUNGIE, PLEASE TAKE OUT THIS KIND OF RESTRICTION ON NET CODE TO EVERYONE PLAY IT PROPERLY. thanks in advance.

          • My network stability has been AWESOME since the game came out, I had a chance to fiend out and play a ton this weekend. I took Friday off so I could play all day... Thurs night -> through until 4AM Friday morning NO issues at all... Friday morning around 10AM- crashing continuously.. Bee, Fly, Caterpillar mostly. A few other animals thrown in.. All day long Friday, crash crash crash until around 11PM... Smooth sailing, I get like 5 Light levels in one night, time to go to bed.. 4AM... Wake up this morning, crash crash crash, same error codes, same time frame.. 520PM had constant crashes all day.. I've been able to complete like 3 crucible matches and one or two patrols.. I've been trying to play since 8AM and no success.. Getting very tired of this.. FYI - Cat5 from router to Xbone. All ports forwarded, even tried putting the XBone in a DMZ, reboot router, unplugged switches, all sorts of LAN network troubleshooting... No effect no matter what I did. My router does not support "Bandwidth Throttling", so I can't lower it to test that theory.. (Why should I really have to do all this work to get the game going though?) It seems that during the time of day when people are conscious, there are issues.. I live in a condo, each suite has its' own network. It's a Gigabit fibre connection, constant steady 28 Mb down 3 Mb up. No packet loss, etc.. C'mon Bungie, get your asses in gear.

            • Well here's my stats Xbox One Wireless NAT Type: Open Packet Loss: 0% I have several other games on this console (Battlefield 4, PVZ: Garden Warfare, Titanfall) All of those games work perfectly fine, no disconnections, so I think I can carefully say that the issue isnt on my end. And I dont feel like messing around with my router just to stay connected to Destiny. I can play story missions and patrol missions without getting kicked, it's when I try to play crucible or any other form of matchmaking. I can stay connected for about 5 - 10 minutes then I get Error Code: "Bee" In the long run, I really do enjoy this game, but it will be even better once these server issues are fully dealt with.

              • Been 5 days since I've bought the game, yet still never been able to play. After I hit login on the character screen it has the cutscene, then Cosmodrome. Tries to go through that cutscene (which you can't skip. ) then I get the error saying "You have been disconnected from Destiny's severs or you have been logged in somewhere else. Destiny requires a goldsubscription." Which I have, also have done many hard resets, and all ports forwarded with open NAT. All other games work fine.

                      - NAT is open - all recommended ports are forwarded - UPnP is enabled - DMZ is enabled - routers firewall is disabled - switched from WiFi to cable - tried another (better and newer) router - made some connection checks (packet loss: 0 %) - reinstalled the game - made a hard reset on both of my routers - disconnected every other online device - contacted my ISP to look into these things - downloadrate ~18mbs - uploadrate ~1mbs .. and still bees everywhere. Not sure if if's my bandwith that's causing this, because Destiny uses compared to other games extreme much as far as I read. If that's the cause thank's for writing THIS in the games discription, Bungie. My connection is fast enough to play any MMORPG (even when there is one of this huge city raids is going on) and Battlefield 4 with.. a few people more then 12 in it..

                      • Hey everyone just a quick post to let you know my experience and fix. Until today I have had no problems whatsoever but then I started having issues connecting and issues with Destiny realising I had a PS+ account (so I could join strikes etc). If I ever did connect I was quickly dropped again from the servers - I received so many error messages; cattle, centipede, lionfish etc. I realised that earlier today I had reset my router and forgotten all about it - long story short - I put my PS4 into DMZ... http://wololo.net/2014/05/19/how-to-speed-up-your-ps4-internet-connection-with-dmz-by-jmqmofficials/ This fixed things immediately - must be worth a try for anyone having issues, especially if the issue was spontaneous - try and remember if you have made any hardware changes. Good Luck!

                        • It just amazes me that I've never had an issue with any other games with my ISP. And with the differences with errors that everyone seems to be having, it can't be on our end totally. Sure, maybe a few have some things they need to work out with their network, but the majority of us got everything straight and ready to go.

                          • Since last friday I haven't been able to play for an hour straight. - Friday I was logged in for about 45 minutes and had 9 disconnects (the entire zoo!) during those minutes. - Saturday I managed to play (read: "be online in Destiny") for less than two hours, with several beaver-intervals barring me from joining any match in Crucible. (Strangely enough, the rest was in fact possible.) - Sunday (today) I managed to go to the tower and see the bounty-guy... before encountering a bunch of beavers and even a fatal error which booted me right out to the PS4 home menu. According to Destiny, I'm on NAT3. According to my modem and my ISP I'm on NAT2 and shouldn't be experiencing errors while trying to game online... Point in case the fact that (for example) The Last Of Us works like a charm on my PS4 and the fact that online gaming on my PC works without fault as well. Little help? To be fair, I really like(d) the game (for as long as it worked) but these last three days have me at an inch from returning it to the store. No offense, Bungie, but get your things in order, please.

                          • We will continue to be ignored while the rest of the community plays just fine, theres no way bungie reps and higher ups arent aware of this issue by now due to excessive calls to ISP and console support line along with these forums being flooded with our posts.Bungie probably thinking 'hey we made our money by now so lets ignore the shit out of the small issue our loyal gamers have right now till they figure it out or sell the game back for another person to buy' i would hope there at the very minimum some kind of compensation for all of us puttin in whole 8 hour shifts to try and solve bungays BEE problem

                          • I'm experiencing disconnects too. Primarily during side missions. I'm hard wired with XBox One to an Asus RT-N66U Dark Night router that has never had a problem with other games. After getting disconnected I can still use other high bandwidth applications like YouTube.
