if you dont mind grinding the materials you can trade those in for crucible exp and points.

Thanks, that's what I've decided to do. Good suggestion. Fulfilling bounties and missions on patrol while gathering materials and hunting chests to progress with a faction I have found more enjoyable then the crucible pvp or the repetitive strikes, especially now with more patrol events springing up

I have noticed you get marks far faster from crucible matches then you do from strikes. Just an observation
