It's not that the game is not ready, it's that you can't account for every possibility. 1 week for a connectivity issue like this is not a long time at all, especially when Bungie has already said they are looking into it and doing whatever they can, and all these kids stamping their feet and making threats are not helping anything. Do you want an hourly update from Bungie that just says "Still looking?", or would you like them to spend that time actually working on the problem instead of trying to pacify the immature few who keep throwing a tantrum? Honestly, your refund is a drop in the bucket and not important at all to anyone. I'm not trying to be an asshole here, but Bungie has plenty of people playing and loving this game, a few kids having a fit and returning the game aren't going to mean much when the mature ones realize that sometimes you have to have patience.

Except I would argue that it should be the mature ones that return it. If you paid for a product ie Galaxy note 4 after being a consumer tester and it worked fine in the test. And its texting function didn't work due to some error AND there was no email, help line, or direct (read forum) customer support whatsoever. What would you do? I doubt you'd wait MONTHS to text again. When there are plenty of comparable products that are workable and also acknowledge your issue and existence.

  • How has Bungie failed to acknowledge your existence and the fact that there is a problem? Did you see the fact that they've already put out a hotfix to solve some of the problem and said they're continuing to work on the issues? If you want to return the game, go for it, but it's unfair that you're acting like Bungie is completely ignoring this issue.

  • https://forums.dust514.com/default.aspx?g=search&devbadge=1&gmbadge=1 I present that as evidence of what bungie is lacking. Plus that's an F2P mmofpsrpg. There is no dev support, email, or phoneline. That equals zero customer support or acknowledgment. They put out stuff that is general and none of it pertains to my particular issue. I'm not getting centipede errors.

  • You're also not their only customer, so it doesn't matter whether or not it fixes your particular problem. The fact is, it fixes some of the problems, and they are working on the others.

  • Also you ignored my point.

  • How do they know what my particular problem is if I can't contact them?

  • You think they don't have equipment monitoring the status of their servers, including the disconnects and other things like that? They don't need you to tell them what your particular problem is, they already know, and anyone with common sense should know that they are working on them, without having to hold your hand and tell you ever 5 minutes that's what they're doing.

  • That's not what I want at all...with an online only game, customer support is a must. Did you even follow the link I posted? You can play that game for FREE. This game has no email, no phone number, or dev regulated forum. This forum is run by "community mentors" not bungie. Help.bungie.net says so. Community meaning player not experts. You obviously have little experience with other mmo like online games or much life experience. In a few years you will understand.

It's pretty cute that you realize you're wrong, so instead of continuing a debate you choose to try to negate my response with a dismissive assumption, but we can play your game. I played Guild Wars 1 for 3 years, I played Guild Wars 2 from release until Destiny's release, and I've play WoW over the span of it's life for roughly 2 years, so clearly I have experience with a few MMOs, probably more than you. Where exactly does life experience come into play in this conversation? Life experience tends to teach patience to intelligent people, and since you seem to lack that, I'd say you're lacking one or the other. You can decide. Am I saying that Bungie doesn't need a Dev regulated forum? Not at all, that would be pretty helpful. I am saying you're throwing a tantrum because one of them is not checking in with you and letting you know exactly what they're doing, when all you really need to know is that they're working on the issues people are having. If you have a problem with how they're handling the situation, make your own topic in Feedback, maybe one of them will come and respond to you. If you can't wait for them to fix it, return the game and move on with your life.

  • I am not throwing a tantrum at all. I'm not screaming and complaining. I'm pointing out this game lacks any substantial customer support whatsoever. There is no way to get into contact with bungie. If it were a few months from now and most the issues were fixed, but I still had a problem who do I contact? In all your examples everyone has customer support if something goes wrong. It doesn't even need to be about connection issues. What if I login one day and all my equipped gear is missing? If this were any of your examples there would be a GM to come get me my stuff. May it take a couple days sure, but the help and contact happens, it's not nonexistent. You are the on who is wrong, and gaming experience does not translate into life experience. Life experience matters because you have seen what is good or bad in given situations. I have dealt with many customer support issues from Amazon shipping, to insurance claims, to VA claims, and much much more. Bungies customer support is horrible. It's a fact. I hope it gets better but that's the reality as it stands. If my opinion isn't enough go look up some reviews by "accredited" sources.

  • most of these 'errors' or geographical or user related errors ... too bad 4 the 'outsiders' PS4 vers. WORKS LIKE A DREAM, HAS NEVER CRASHED. Once the tower didn't load.... THERE HAVE been MANY LESSER games given MORE credit and more PATIENCE than DESTINY.

  • I don't get it, can't they use some of that 500 million dollars to speed things along a bit?

  • That $500 million wasn't just for Bungie to do whatever they want with. $500mil was for the entire 10 year span that the Destiny SERIES is supposed to take up. Besides, what would extra money help with? They've already got their people working on it. If they used it to bring in extra people, they'd just have to wait while someone fills them in on the issues and gets everyone caught up, and let them familiarize themselves with how everything is being handled. Extra money wouldn't help.

  • The problem with this idea is that it's been longer than a week for most people. The caterpillar problem that I am dealing with myself, has been around since the beta. This issue has yet to be resolved. It's been almost 2 WHOLE MONTHS and they have yet to fix this problem. The same could be said for the centipede and cattle errors, which have been around since the beta. So don't just say that we, the consumers affected by these problems, don't deserve answers.

  • Id like to point out as a programmer, its taken me days to find a bug in 300 lines of code. Theres way more to look at than that escpecially when its networking. Sometimes it takes time. Go outside one last time before you buckle into this game.

  • I undestand that it takes a lot of time to find an error, especially when dealing with a game of this size, but im just saying that they have had enough time to find at least one of the "Noahs Ark" errors and accurately fix it. As far as i can tell, they havent fixed any, which means im still gonna have to play destiny 5minutes at a time until they fix their errors.

  • What about the millions of users who are playing without issue such as myself? I have yet to experience a disconnect since the Alpha on Playstation 4. Most XBOX players I know are experiencing the issues while playstation 4 are not. It is possible that due to Microsoft server stipulations that are in place which could be causing such issues. Were you a player of GTA V? On XBOX, it took over 4 weeks for the online aspect of the game to even be playable for me. Issues happen on game launches, thats going to happen no matter what is planned for. No game launch in history have been perfect, most launches for any online game have updates on a weekly basis after launch (ESO anyone?). Being patient is how the community should respond. I have been working an IT technical support job for a few years now and can attest that not every issue can be fixed within a few hours, specifically I have been working with a client for over one month to resolve an error that did not display any error codes on the server. Not everything computer related outputs an error or is easily traced. Patience is key in many aspects of life, especially games which are trivial in the scope of things. Look forward to seeing you back in the community in the upcoming weeks after more patches.

  • And like I said, you people are acting like they're doing it on purpose, and they're just sitting there laughing at you. Bungie has already said they're working on the problem, what else do you expect them to do? If you don't like it and really feel like you wasted your money and can't have a little bit of patience, take it back so the people who do enjoy the game don't have to listen to it.

for those who can play the game.... why are u on the forums and not playing the game? this guy is saying if u have issues feel free to pursue a refund and letting u know how to go about it... hes not saying this game sux ass dont buy it -blam!- bungie -blam!- microsoft -blam!- lazy game devs.... No hes saying stop being a push over and letting game devs walk all over the people who play their games, after all with out the people who would u sell to? u wouldnt and quickly ud be out of business. so we control them not the other way around, if they dont have the balls to say hey we cant release the game in time on account of many errors please be patiant we only want to perfect it for u, then why even go with that dev team in the 1st place i would have much rather them push it back then release a game that so many people cant even play... i for 1 do not have this problem i havent been booted nor gotten any wierd error messages nut i notice the recent trend of game devs pushing out (not back) unfinished broken games... look at BF4 for instance that was buggier then a week old rotting corpse... and GTAV omg they completely forgot to take into consideration that sum gamers are cheaters and will try and find ever exploit possible, leaving some players with insane amounts of money and level 100 characters on day 1! this is the kind of shit that breaks game communities... makes gamers not want to play that game and even possibly not return for a sequal... look at BF hardline as of right now its number of preorders is at an all time low for any BF game and its solely because of BF4s broken entry.

  • I know what he's saying, and I'm saying he's got a stick up his ass and thinking everyone should be punished for what is an unforeseen development with the servers. He thinks we should burn everyone at Bungie at the stake for "pushing out a game that is not complete" when by any and all standards it is complete, some people are just having issues that Bungie did not see coming. Guess what? They've already put out a hotfix, correcting some of the issues. Getting all that together and patched up in a week? That's amazing, I don't care what anyone says, most people don't know the kind of time and effort it takes to track down what the problem is, let alone figuring out a way to fix it. I'm not saying you shouldn't hold developers responsible when they push out unfinished games, or games that aren't ready (BF4), I'm saying that is not what Bungie did and people need to learn to have a little patience when it comes to a fix instead of stomping their feet and demanding a refund like a child throwing a tantrum.

  • um these issues such as error Bee, Centipede, Goat, etc etc have been around since beta... It was foreseen Bungie new of these issues... Game devs just need to stop trying to make deadlines they can bend rules weve seen it before, back when devs actually cared about game integrity and not the all mighty dollar. i for 1 would return my copy if it too had issues i wouldnt sit around waiting for it to get fixed... when i buy something i expect it to be in working order not broken if its broken then ...its broke and need to be returned, refunded or swapped out.
