They gave us the blurb you read on the back of a book. The writing quality and the amount of content we have been provided on release is pathetic. Bungie should be ashamed of themselves for this inexcusable example of unprofessional design choices being implemented just to get a game out the door.

  • Keryth, Bungie is going to send you a face palm. Destiny is supposed to have a mysterious story- a puzzle that you yourself are fitting pieces into. Not a straight-forward game that gives you an whole installment of Destiny's history with the species, planted and other things. The story may be clear as mud, maybe it's because you aren't supposed to gain the whole experience in 9 hours like in Halo. You've completed the story on Destiny? Because if you have, it would be absolutely OBVIOUS that we've only scratched the surface. So why don't you calm down hot-tits?

I realize we won't get the whole story right away, that's fine. But what we do have is an unprofessional incomprehensible mess. This is plain and simple bad story telling.

  • I agree, but not as severely as you put it. The grimoire cards that you gain throughout the game provide most of the actual descriptions. You can't even tell what the factions stand for in game, but the grimoire cards give a bit more description.

Why do these plot points need to be shown on cards? What kind of design choice is this that completely separates the game play from the story? The cards only barely give any context at that and in most cases only serve to present more questions towards the story as a whole

  • I think its ingenious that they separated them. However, would have been noce if they told you in giant letters "experience the entire Destiny experience with the iphone app or website" because thats when it gets interesting. Dont do that little step and then you end up on these boards complaining. What they have done with the app is make you play the game in your head while your at work or school. Reading the G and thinking about the game to only come home eat and then want to play that freaking game some more. It really is insidious the way they set up the story to anchor into your head that way. Love it, lol.

They hardly add any context to the story and only exist ad another disconnected series of bullet points. They do not expand or add context or understanding to the story we were given.

  • I agree with you, I don't like having to check my phone to see a new card either. I have commented on other posts and mentioned the same point you just brought up. Bungie should have at least included the cards within the game instead of separately on here.
