This game NEEDS a trading system.

People don't understand how much this game would benefit to a trading system... Since the accounts are saved on a CLOUD, that means duping cannot happen. I have also picked up Legendaries and Exotics for a different class, wishing I could trade them with another player for similar equipment. YOU can earn your gear but it is your choice if you want to give it away, they should make a trading system where both players must accept what they wish to trade and must come to a final conclusion, if one player cancels to try to change anything, it will cancel the whole trade. Not hard. The Cryptarch is a jerk, why have a chance of getting a Rare out of a Legendary Engram? Where is the "Earning"? Random drops aren't "earning" since they are RANDOM, I play the game for much longer than my friend and he gets better loot than me... EDIT: I can only EARN so much a week anyway, so if they limit how much I can EARN, which pretty much stops me from playing because bad drops.

  • Trading would ruin this game. The storyline deffinitly didn't hold this game up, the grinding is what the game is all about, take that away and what are you left with?

    • You should be able to trade an exotic for an exotic

No trading. Destroys the concept of Character Investment. People are in the hurry to achieve the best gear after one week of the game being out. Destiny already allows players to pick up gear for other classes, and then able to be stored inside a bank/vault. Earning gear is much more rewarding than buying it offline from someone on Ebay. Spend the time to play, have the more opportunities to grow your character/characters and gain better gear. Otherwise the whole peer to peer trading system will break everything that Bungie has stood on. Character Investment.

      • If they did a system where players built reputation with other players ie after playing team based game modes for 40 hrs with a person you are allowed to trade with them. Make it a commitment so people aren't abusing the mechanic and it would work in my opinion.

You're wrong, this game doesn't need trading. You're supposed to level up more than one character in this game, therefore all three classes loot is valuable. The benefits of having more than one character are obvious - weekly events and raids have rewards per character. If you have more than one character you can have more rewards per week. The inventory is shared among all characters so all items there just stack up. Trading on the other hand, will just give an incentive for farmers to squeeze real money out of people who don't want to farm. And by real money I mean that they will find ways to arrange it behind the scenes on some off site or whatever, because (thank God for that, at least) Destiny doesn't have an auction house. And no, I don't believe in "Trading Only Between Friends" - farmers will just spam friend requests to random ppl to arrange trades. There's no way to know who's the real friend and who's random befriended person only there for a trade. Call me a cynic, but I never underestimate ppl's ingenuity when they see an opportuniy to make a buck.

A trading system can work in any game like this, as long as the proper limitations are put in place. Nothing in this game is truly earned anyway. All drops and rewards are random.

        • Hell no. Just so you filthy casuals who wont work for it can just get high level stuff from your friends? In a sense trading an exotic body that you got for another class for another one of yours makes sense but still people would abuse it because they are too lazy to actually go work for their gear. Youre what is wrong with the gaming industry these days. -blam!-ing filthy casuals

        • Trading would be a bad idea. If you get shit for another class, eventually play that class when you can't lvl your main any more, Soon as you hit 20 you could start or be close to starting raids. Earning shit the hard way makes it more gratifying in the end.

        • Me i dont care for, what is it called, "sence of accomplishment" people speek of. Not in a video game with no real world aspect. Now if i can get my mustang on the road the i would feel accomplished.

        • This game needs a trading system. This game needs a good hacking. This game needs reduced drop rates. This game needs online 3rd party vendors selling items for real world currency. Like this post if you agree to any of these. Because all of that will happen if a trading system is implemented.

          • Honestly there isn't enough variety in armor or weapons to have a trading system and this game isn't expansive enough to have its own economic system.

Theoretically, there's no trading system because you can create 3 different characters (enough for one of each class), and if you put items in your vault it can be accessed by any of your characters. It's basically a trading system but only with yourself.

                • This is not your standard "loot grind" dungeon crawler. The process of finding better gear is an intergral part of the levelling up process after level 20...and its the carrot that Bungie uses to keep us involved in all parts of the game after the story missions are done. If there was any predictability to the loot drops....or if there was a trading system that created a shortcut.... ....people would take it, and stop playing the game. The sense of accomplishment isn't in getting the gear. Its in doing what you had to in order to get it. Which is why there seems to be a ramping up of the drops...and why there is "noise" in the system as to what you'll actually get when their decrypted.

                • Actually, there's already been an official discussion over this. Tyson Green, the lead player investment designer at Bungie, said that Player to Player trading will be available as soon as Bungie is able to enable it safely. You can find it all here:

                • Honestly, I'm sure one of the main reasons for "No trading" is that they don't want a black market to revolve around this game. It would only be a matter of time before sweatshops in tiny Asian countries created manned bots for farming for exotics to sell them to people for real money.

                  • No way, i like that its hard to get legendary and exotics, its the whole point that bungie made a while back, "when u see someone with epic gear, you'll know how much stuff they had to go through to get it."

                    • I don't want a trading system, but I'll admit, I'd use it if there was one. I've got exotic and legenderies further classes and would happily swap them for some for my own class.

                      • Trading upgrade materials, coins and motes might be nice, but I don't think that weapons or armour should be tradable. Game economies can add another layer of realism and immersion after all.
