If I get a legendary engram, I want a legendary. This is not me begging for bungie to spoon feed them to me, it's me saying if I grind for a legendary and get part of one, I deserve the full one. It takes them ages to drop anyway!
Honestly, to solve this issue I think they should just drop "engrams" of no rarity so we don't know what we are getting. This way it would stop people getting stressed and posts like this being made :)

But that ruins the fun, it's like gambling, if you choose to max payout on all the lines, you can still lose. Obviously you don't want to lose all te money, but it's a huge possibility...

I know what you mean, but it's not like you're paying for the engrams. It's just dumb that a legendary drops and some people still get greens... It's ridiculous!

Yeh I know, but you pay with time & effort instead of money... But I agree, it an engram should have a rarity above & a rarity below and that's it! Cuz then what's the point of a legendary engram if I'm just gonna get an uncommon item from it? I get incommon things just by killing vandals in patrol

true. But when there is the VoG that is purely luck based if you can do it or not (the right gear) I just find it unfair. And yup that is exactly the point! I just don't like it

I love this idea. They already have a rarity system for them however so doubt they'd implement this though. It'd be fantastic though if they considered the difficulty of missions/enemies in the drop rates for engrams, and maybe made it more likely to get an item of the given rarity. At the moment, it seems hardly fifty/fifty.
