You can't really blame the kids these days, its the world they are growing up in where they are shielded from failure all through their young lives. That whole mentaility of everyones a winner. Its just setting them up to fail because when they find something they don't win at it becomes a shock. They then scream and shout that they should be entitled to something. My daughter is starting school next year and i've heard from other parents that the school practices the whole everyone wins approach. Failure is much needed in life as it test strength of character to stand back up and try harder to achieve a goal. You see it littered on the forums so many times, nerf this, nerf that... I can't do this so nerf that. People complain about shotguns and say its no skill, they still need to get right up and personal to use it, that requires skill. Then they complain about snipers just camping and not being skilled. Boss fights that are way to hard and should be nerfed, when the vault opens the forums will be flooded with people demanding a nerf. End result is to pay them no mind. If I lost my arm and you lost your fingernail what would affect you more? So don't worry about it and do the really challanging thing of sifting through the forums threads to find nice ones.

  • I agree, i read a lot of complaints of people being bored or upset that they have no good gear. I remember back in the everquest and ultima online days...where you farmed your butt off for months to HOPEFULLY get the gear you want. As for life, i also agree. not knowing failure at a young age is a bad thing...it makes it so they are not ready for life when they are adults. Trust me kids....life is a rude awakening to those who have been sheltered from it.

  • Im 17 and i grew up like that and i hated that approach; i could tell that they didnt like my drawing or my idea in school. I hated being treated like i was unaware of life. I spend most of my time playing video games and nothing else much, but i still have my plans for life set for after highschool. I always enjoy a challenge as it makes things more interesting and fun. Back in the good ol gaming days nothing was ever handed to you, no tutorials, no directioning, but now its like kids demand everything to be handed to them so they feel like they accomplished something they never did. Kids cant even handle a simple critique; they get all defensive and cant face the facts. We need more blunt parents, but ones that are so blunt that they leave the kids emotionally scarred and end up in a state of depression for the rest of their lives because they feel theyre not good at anything. We need kids to understand what self determination is and self confidence because thats needed imo.

  • Has anyone actually claimed boss fights are too hard? They seem to just be repetitive, and every single one basically asks you to sit behind cover and occasionally pop out for potshots. Bullet sponges aren't hard, they're just super annoying. It's like mowing the lawn if you have a decent sized lawn; takes a while, and you're just doing the same thing over and over again. With chores, you endure the monotony because you have to, but a leisure activity shouldn't be the same way. Honestly, everyone hates the tank you fight before Sepiks Prime, but I like that battle in the sense that there's a gimmick; attack his legs, and when one pops, a new weak spot temporarily opens up. There's a central gimmick that's more engaging than "shoot weak spot, take cover, repeat." It's engaging, and people hate it because of the instakill cannon, not because of mind-numbing boredom. Meanwhile, Sepiks Prime, you just shoot the weak spot over and over during a long battle of unchanging behavior. There's no gimmick or interesting quirk. His attacks don't even do much damage, and if your team fails, it's usually because the mooks that spawned nearby killed you. I haven't really seen the "too hard" complaint, just the "too annoying" complaint, and that's a completely valid criticism of something that you're spending leisure time on.

I had to pull weeds for 4 hours just to get 20 bucks to go to the movies back then.

  • Can't blame the kids but I can blame the parents for raising metrosexual little vaggies! Couldn't agree more dude. The "Millennial" generation is ruining gaming with the whining and bitching about this or that being "OP" and needing nerfed, learn to play or take your OCD ass back to COD .

  • I raise my glass to you sir [ feel free to insert drunken Irish joke :D] We have a stark example of that in our family, 2 brother same jobs, same town one and his wife did the never fail bull and the others just said hard luck buddy now get the **** back on that horse and own it. End result one family has come from a well to do background and ended up with 1 kid on benefits and the other constantly in trouble whereas the other has 1 that's 22 and a commercially licences pilot and the older is a principle accountant for one of the big 3 logistics corps. I never had the luxury of either set but damn I know which way I'm going as the old maternal instincts are starting to dominate the better half's plans Sniping is not camping, hence why sniper rifles have bipods it's a skill of patience and focus try delaying gratification for once Shotgun is CQC and effective up to 50m get over it Bosses are meant to be bada** nigh impossible foes go play a lieutenant and leave the bosses to the grown ups Too many enemies at once? humanity is supposed to be decimated, outnumbered and outgunned... what the hell did you expect? This sorta thing is why I left eSports and changed my tag...

  • You have played 50 hours on a video game. I don't know how highly I value your opinion on why kids are how they are today because it's people like you who play games more than work that teaches the youth to have no work ethic. Just saying don't preach when you ain't perfect.

  • Work in the military, not been allowed to take leave since February. Should I check with you before I take my next leave? I probably even accomplished more in my time off outside of the game than you did in the same week.

Play the game or get the -blam!- out of the crucible, don't do any strikes...etc. Everyone who isn't good at something in the game wants it changed.

  • Times change and so do people, growing up now is different than growing up then. People who bash on the new generation are hypocrites.
