I don't understand what everyone is freaking our about the story for. How could Bungie have a concept for supporting a game for 10 years, and give 100% of the story the first week.
People are such whiny babies. Get over yourselves.
I'm December the expansion packs come. The story I'm sure will flesh out.
Until then, put some time in leveling your Vanguard and Crucible rank (just not in my lobbies, we roll 6 deep and shut it down, don't get it twisted we are a Destiny Dream Team) and give up that poisonous Call of Duty instant gratification sickness broooooooo.

Honestly three of us came over from Ghosts together (we were a fairly successful Diamond Division clan), but the rest of our squad we've met at the Tower or on Patrol. I've already made social connections based off of this game. I say that's pretty awesome. Add me on 360 if that's your console.

Not to mention they plan on adding to the story even before the expansions, with new missions etc. There are places on all of the planets with names (and even enemy spawns in some cases) that we haven't even had access to yet. Like an mmo, the story builds over time as people play it.

I've said it before, I'll say it again. If you have to rely on DLC to save/expand a story for a console game, the game has already failed. DLC for the main story on a console? That's unforgivable. Knowing that they already had it complete, but didn't put it in the game for launch? Even more so.

Did you really think you would get the full story the first week? They aren't relying on DLC to save the story, they are using it to tell the story. Same reason we are on Episode 7 on Star Wars. I'm starting to believe the internet and its click for instant gratification is killing sensibility in humans and patience.

There's a difference between a sequel and DLC content. What this is like is when you pay full price for your movie, then the theatre cuts it off 30 minutes in and says that you have to pay more for the next 30 minutes. Or like buying a three course meal and only getting one course, being told that you need to pay for the next. Both are unacceptable. If you are going to have DLC story missions, it better not be for the main story line. Do it like Skyrim, where the DLC had their own side story expansions. Really, who's going to want to pay for DLC to the main story when the story we have is a joke?

Do your research before you purchase a game next time. They went over this many times. It's not their fault you are one of those "buy first, think later" consumers.

I did my research. But everywhere you looked before the game came out it was "Deztinee iz gunna be da bezt gaem evar!" I played the beta, had my concerns. Got the game, and woop de do, my concerns were justified. There's a reason why I didn't shell out $100 for the limited edition. And to your other comment, this isn't an MMO. I've played MMO's, and this isn't one. It's missing the two key components that keep MMO's alive: communication and a deep, enticing story. This is a loot based RPG. Just because there are raids doesn't make this an MMO.

Skyrim wasnt developed to last for ten years either, and quite frankly that story wasn't even the most coherent either. And the DLC wasn't free. Everyone knew going in, that expansion packs were part of it. M advice, get over it.

Yes they said that, but if you are going to make a game, at least make it so it can stand alone. The story can't stand as it is, it's terrible. It needs the expansions. That's what I don't like. You need the expansions so you can actually have a complete game. If they had said that $60 would buy me a game that was only going to have six hours of story and that it was going to have terrible acting and be the most shallow story I've seen in years, I would have saved money and bought Far Cry 4. I can explore in it, and it would have a good story.

Way to put words in my mouth. Did you even read my earlier post? I want my $60 dollars to buy a story that is complete. If they want to add side missions through DLC, I don't care, but the story we have now isn't complete. And this game isn't going to last ten years. I'll be surprised if it lasts more than two.

And besides that they have events all this September. The Queens Wrath. Sounds like more story fleshing out to me. The Iron Banner, all kinds of engaging content.
