The female Exo torsos are smaller than the male Exo torsos.
As any electrical engineer knows, the tighter you pack your electronics, the greater concern heat becomes.
To combat the extra heat generated in the smaller female Exo frame, two larger heat sinks were added to the upper torso.
Definitely don't try to touch them. You'll burn yourself.

Well considering everything else mentions heat sinks... Even the exotic sniper rifle, Ice Breaker... Which literally explodes with heat... Yeah it's a pretty safe bet to assume we don't have that shit.
