Question about DMZ. Doesn't that bypass the firewall? Therefore making the security of internet connection very suspect? Or does this not matter on PS4? I would never do this on my computer if thats true.
I already created my static IP and forwarded the PS required ports to that IP (80, 443, etc).

Edited by True Reclaimer: 9/2/2014 2:50:31 AMYes. Yes. No on PS4 it does not matter as the PS4 has a built in firewall and PSN is a secure server (you dont need anymore firewalls slowing you down). NEVER put your PC on a DMZ. Static IP is good 1st step. The port forwarding gets sketchy and is an old ps3 technique thats outdated. Modern day DMZ for PS4 is highly recommended, just pop in that static ip.

Also don't forget to turn off your upnp. It's a waste of resources in your router and will cause about a second or so of lag. I also have a TV with a game mode. TV video processors can also add lag to what you see.

Ok. Thanks for the info. I wasn't sure about the DMZ. This should bump my download and upload speeds a little :)

Yupp you will only be limited by your ISP and usage by other devices now haha. Should clear up most join/invite/chat issues too

Hey man. Just wanted to thank you for the help. I doubled my download and upload speeds by doing the DMZ. Thanks again. 6 days, 11 hours, and 57 minutes to go!!
