Well, the horse may be dead, but it's probably nothing more than people getting that bitter taste out of their mouths. And now that MS has a holiday season approaching with 3 bundles (all Kinect-less) to appeal to different tastes, they should be back on their feet in no time. Part of the problem is the 'law of small numbers,' which will tell you that if they both sell 10 million units in the next year ( and if they've really only moved 5 at this point), then at the en of next year it'll be 15M vs. 20M, which still reads as a third more. Really, it will just take time before they can start to seem like it's an even market (early leads are tough to overcome). Well, obviously, they could buy another 'Halo' type game, but it is harder-and-harder to imagine that happening these days. Oh, and for anybody that likes the sort of 'Maths' that the H2G2 always invokes, the law of small numbers is a wonderful thing. Or, rather, a million things. Without question it isn't a law (because of its not-being-one-thing, if nought else), it rarely ever stands a chance to be properly quantified, and it's very usually wrong. All that being taken as read, it's one of the most powerful laws you'll ever meet in your travels, so I'd recommend you get yourself a couple of nice, stiff Gin and Tonics enjoyed in a good comfy chair and read up on it for the next few years. Fascinating stuff.
