Maybe in hard mode raids you will need to use those ammo packs to give you the ammo needed to complete it. It would be nice if they could be hot keyed to one of the directional arrows though.

I agree good idea about the hotkey. Just take out one of the less popular emote animations or make them double tap. I just think that if there is no change it will start to be a given that you use heavy ammo all the time and primary weapons will get almost no use at top tier levels.

It may also depend on what weapons you bring, and the scenarios we are put in during the raid. There may be times when you need the precision of a pulse/scout rifle at a longer distance than the heavy weapons are effective. Also if you have a very good exotic primary it may be better than the heavy you are carying.
