I wonder how many thirsty children could have been hydrated by all the water wasted on people wanting to look cool on social media, you want to contribute, great, but why make a spectacle out of a generous act and cheapen a good deed... Where is our humility and shame... I weep for our future.

  • Bravo!! Way to be a dick. If you have such a problem you come up with a better way to raise over $15 million for a charity. This viral campaign has raised more for research then I am sure they every expected. I bet you would kick a puppy if it walked in front of you. Weep for your own cynicism.

It's not like the water ceases to exist after it's poured out... And have you tried mailing water to third world countries? I'm betting not. Edit:, my bad, replied to the wrong post :/

If you've brushed your teeth with the water on ONE TIME, you have wasted more water than someone doing the ice bucket challenge. Nice try, though.

  • You must brush your teeth like a mentally challenged person then.

  • I feel the exact same way not to mention people are dieing by doing this challenge, people with heart conditions that they didn't know about. Also people getting concussions, broken/sprained limbs, and sick. This challenge reminds me of the "drink the most water in one day and win a wii!" Someone out there will overdo it and die.

  • people are dumb. http://au.ibtimes.com/articles/563446/20140821/ice-bucket-challenge-death-hoax-neck-injur.htm#.U_dFDcIcSUk wish people would FACT CHECK before they just spew useless crap all over the internet. But then that's the beauty of the net. Stupid people can feel smart.

  • I'm not spewing random crap, but people are getting hurt and people with heart conditions are going to the hospital at least, this hole thing is stupid. You know how to make it known? By socializing about it.

So a few fire fighters, who got close to power lines, while helping with a ice bucket challenge, get hurt (because of their own stupidity) and you tell the world, to stop. There's no other news about it, just those fire fighters. It's for a great cause, that has now gotten way more attention than ever before. So the WHOLE thing isn't stupid Try googling for injuries.

  • Dumping water on you for a cause? F that that's not doing anything what is doing something is someone paying money. It's stupid and you dumping a bucket of ice on your head supports nothing.

  • Actually once you do dump the ice you still have to donate money like 10 or more but under 100. If you don't do it you have to donate 100. Most of those that have done it have donated like bungie/ activision, 343I, WWE Chairman, Triple H, Dave Bautista, and several other famous people and groups. This also raises awareness about ALS and what the disease affects and that they don't have a cure for it. With that being said it has done something otherwise it would go unheard of, so quit being a blam-ing cry baby about it and donate or STFU.

  • Also I'm not being a cry baby but this doesn't shed light on ALS at All. It's s giant waste of time. What would be good is if they actually put up a like 20 minute documentary on ALS, on their plans for the research they are doing and how we can help, hell a dude with ALS did it, talked about how hard it is knowing his time is near, and said it's very much real. Those type of things shed light on a disease not a bunch of blowhards dumping water over themselves and maybe donating money. It's stupid and can potentially be dangerous.

  • You blaming nartard it does shine light on what ALS is, if you don't know or didn't know what it was a person with common sense would think to google what it is and what happens. The research is to find a cure for the deadly neurological disease. That's in laymen terms and if you still don't understand the concept or get what the research is for then you are a special kind of stupid and no one can help save you.

  • They have to have a plan of attack also, not just "research for this" Keep your bleeding heart philosophy to yourself, I think it's sad what happens to these people, but from what I understand is it's hereditary. they should be able to have a plan of attack, not just "throw money at us so we can research. " I am by no means not understanding why it's important, but this icebucket challenge is a social media stunt, I'm glad it's "working" for them, but the ice bucket thing leaves a bad taste in my mouth.

  • No I'm sure people don't always donate 10 dollars, I know a lot of the people that do that don't donate at all

  • You are beyond stupid. No shit dumping water doesn't do anything but the point is that someone who was diagnosed with ALS stated this and it grew and it raised a lot of awareness and in the last month or so they have raised over 10million so that's why it's helping..not because the bucket of water is physically doing something but indirectly raising awareness. Try to think before spewing

  • WE should raise awareness for these thristy children by playing Russian Roulette with a 9mm handgun. You know what, since you brought up the issue, I'll let you have the honors of going first.
