I like where your thinking is with this one.
I dont want to find myself running from chest to chest checking their spawns for quick glimmer, so id like to see some thought put into it.
At the end of the day though, there will always be folks who figure out some sort of farming method....

Personally i feel a bit of balancing might be a good idea, The concept behind farming is great, but it seems a little to simple to do in this case, it is a strategy, But even strategy need there limitations before they turn to something bad, Turn them in to shortcuts instead of Game Changers.. If that makes sense. Just my two cents.
