Why do casuals hate MLG?
That's like a high school Bball player that loves Bball but Hates NBA..
I hate how it's casual vs. competitive (hardcore) players in the forums..
Shouldn't we be helping each other to make a game that we all love to be better?
How can private matches hurt or spoil the fun for casual gamers?
Edit: well at least we ALL agree, that private matches won't hurt anyone by adding it to the game. Thank you for the posts, I have a bigger understanding for both sides.

For example in call of duty Ghosts (a terrible mp game btw) MLG players can't use the I.E.D but in public it is everywhere. That's not the biggest example but you get the point. If yet are considered the best players in the world then why do they play a different version of the game?

3 RepliesMonetizing something always has a distorting effect on it. Which is why prep basketball---and even college basketball---looks very different than the NBA. Lastly, you're assuming that we all agree on what "better" is. In my experience MLG-types are always arguing for changes to FPS games that always maximize rewards to the most experienced players, to those with the fastest nervous system...and makes the game very unfriendly to new players. ...and no we don't all agree that adding private matches aer good thing. I think the are terrible idea for Destiny.

Jealous they can't be as good as MLG ;p Jk. I'm between hardcore and casual because I spend hours and hours on a game and get really intense, but I play for fun and not looking to be the best (although all gamers and myself still love winning and being the best) every match.

I don't hate MLG or MLG players, but I play for fun and they don't, so we'll never see eye to eye. If I'm playing a game solely to win and not have fun, then playing a game becomes work and that's not how I want to play games.

I've played a few of these "MLG" players back in my COD days. Never heard so much crying from players being beat so much in my life. Every time I killed them they would automatically say I'm trash! I'm not the one being wrecked....

I don't hate mlg. I play as much as I can but having a social life and a job keep me from being to "hard core". My only issue is the people you hear in game crying because they lost to something that's in the game but "not legal under mlg rules". Riffle grenades and the like in call of duty comes to mind. If the devs put it in and I can select it it's fair game.

I enjoy the whining when "MLG" gamers get beaten by "casuals". Your tears sustain me. In all honesty though, it's because most "MLG" gamers are condescending considering the large majority of them aren't great. The ones who are actually decent are the same ones who don't belittle casuals or noobs because they know that everyone starts from somewhere.

We don't hate you MLG has raised the profile of gaming you've got ninja who can make 3 thousand dollars just streaming who engages with fans halo2 change competative gaming for the better... The difference is we play to win and don't really like losing when teammates leave when down 2000 points or drop neg 20 bombs... If you want to get better get a mic and communicate learn from better players don't fight against them or sabotage a match... 1 ReplyBungie should institute a test to filter out the casuals. You get 5 games in the crucible to get a K/D of 3.0 or higher. Anyone that doesn't meet that requirement gets locked out of multiplayer for a month. That way no casuals will ruin the experience

Not having private matches will hurt casuals players more than having them...they don't realize that. Instead of clans going against clans you will have clans joining pubs and stomping grounds against 6 uncoordinated players. Those 6 will complain about clans ruining the game at that point.

I'm personally somewhere in the middle between the two (casual mindset of I just want to have fun but hardcore levels of time put in). The being said, from what I see it's not those two levels that are the issue aside from both sides having complete and utter dbags, it's just the ones who want shit handed to them on a silver platter because that's how THEY want the game to be, not how the people who're putting forth all the time effort and money want it to be. TL:DR people are idiots regardless what title you give them
