Because casuals can't handle MLG players if I were to go up against MLG players ( I'm not a casual ) my team would rage quit at least I have the balls to not quit and try my best to win

Just trying to add constructive thought: How does custom matchmaking work normally? I know it involves one person hosting and game type, etc. but I don't know how Halo custom matches worked.

The reason I assume (and you know what happens to someone who assumes) is that M.L.G. is about "skill" and "efficiency", but for some odd reason the majority of people decided to throw efficiency out the window (excluding the actual major league gamers).As a result, the majority of casual gamers have been ridiculed and harassed for their inability to cope with these elitist standards that are not established by pro-gamers but by the people as an excuse for their death or loss of the game.

The problem isn't MLG players, it's 12 year olds (mentally or physically) that say they're MLG players. If there was a way to restrict the use of the word MLG and ESport to people that have participated in a national/international tournament, then the use of those terms would undoubtedly drop by 90% and these kids would get exposed as the try hards they are. It's no different then your stereotypical high school jock asshat or ed hardy douche bag who think they're big and bad and end up flipping burgers, brewing coffee, or cleaning toilets.

Well let's look at it this way: Both PvE and PvP have a portion of their player population known as asshats. Given that PvP by its nature draws more competitive player. Thus PvP tends to have a higher percentage of competitive asshats. These competitive asshats generally make their way to forums, as asshats of all stripes are want to do, and begin to give normal PvP players a bad reputation. Now PvE asshats often show up as your more traditional "troll". They aren't as directly aggressive as the PvP asshats, but they certainly make up for it with loads of passive-aggression. The prime example of this would be an individual who is not planning on playing PvP but takes some twisted joy from the PvP players not having an option like custom games. Additionally PvE and PvP asshats are often sickeningly proud of finding exploits to avoid having to actually achieve things through normal game play or skill. Thus ends our presentation.

The absolute lack of critical thinking skills showcased in this, and other threads, about "Why you no haz Customs/Private Matchmaking/oh noes without this it's doomed to failure! is simply staggering. Look, really look at what Destiny is as a game. 1.) Shared Open World FPS 2.) (and the most critical part here)... all games be they PvE or PvP are done on Bungie's servers ONLINE. 3.) There is [i]no offline component to Destiny![/i] Now, having pointed that out; does having customs, or private MM, for a game that runs online ALWAYS on dedicated servers for it make any kind of sense? No. No, it really doesn't. Besides, it's not like P2P matchmaking is a damned dated mechanic. So, from this we realize Halo (and it's customs) ran on the dated mechanic of P2P Matchmaking and Destiny runs on dedicated servers and is a persistent online world. Notice the difference? Now please, please, please think about asking/complaining about something that hasn't been thought through to well. Oh, and MLG? LMAO. They are a shell of what they used to be. And even in their prime during H2 and H3 they were a negative and unprofessional organization that terrorized the gaming community and unleashed generations of screaming 12y/o tryhard wannabes that are still causing hell.

So I've seen a general Idea going around. People are saying they hate MLG players (which pretty much exclusively means Esports players) because they just take the game way too seriously and that makes it no fun for the other less serious (casual) gamers. Honestly I don't understand that argument one bit. I have been playing Halo all my life, and have lost many games to teams of people who are training to go to MLG (Esports). This did not make the game any less fun, because [b]you can't hear the enemy team[/b]. Or I couldn't cause I knew what a mute button was. So on my end, all I saw was a bunch of players way better than me, and I lost. Done. Simple. No trashtalking because they couldn't. No less fun, because it just meant my team lost faster than usual. The only time I see "MLG" players being jerks is on the internet. And only maybe 5% of those people where actually in MLG. "people take the game too seriously so it's not fun when I play with them" Okay.. Each to his own..? If you joined the army, you dont join because "oh I enjoy it, it's super fun and it doesn't matter who wins." First off: NO. Anyone who thinks like that gets shot in the head the moment they go in the field. If you join the army, [i]it's because You take it seriously[/i]! So saying that [u]I hate MLG players because they are too serious[/u] is like saying "I hate soldiers because they actually want to stay alive". This is SUCH a stupid argument!! It literally makes no sense! If professional players (or even people who have competitive personalities) make you upset, good for you. No one cares, because you can either mute them, avoid them ingame, or simply join a new game. It's the same in real life. If someones personality clashes with yours, you simply don't go around with that person. I know many people I just cant get along with so we just don't see eachother. We don't go crying to our friends because they annoyed us. People are so self-entitled these days and it makes me sick. Humanity is dead. ME is alive. Society is retarded in this age, and every day I find myself wanting to die even more so I don't have to suffer such inhumanity anymore. My ranting is finished, as I felt I needed to let off some steam in a (hopefully slightly) mature (yet frustrated) manner. because when you take the NBA players and put them in with the high school players what do you think is going to happen. MLG = try hards. They take the game WAY to seriously.

If I gotta read or listen to someone toss around the word "casual" anymore.. We all play games and are gamers, what's with the need to try to make someone sound better or more important, childish. Hardcore, lol! There's nothing hardcore about thinking you're better at, or play more video games than someone else.

Its that MLG players are such arrogant pricks. Fantastic you can achieve something that someone else could given enough time and practice...... you are a significantly better person and entitled to throw around words like "noob" "Scrub", and the ever present in video gaming derogatory term for a homosexual. Congrats digital achievements definitely entitle you to act like an ass whenever an wherever possible.
