  • You know, this article really reminds of my dad. I'm the kind of kid who grew up on Nintendo playing Zelda and Final Fantasy 1, and N64 (still have a majority of my games too!) But anyways, my dad was never too supportive of my gaming. He always thought it would become an addiction that would ruin my life (if you can guess his political standing I'll give you a free high five) and he always demanded that I stop playing and do something more productive. Well, much at his behest, I continued to play.... For the entirety of my existence nonetheless (I'm 21 by the by) and just recently he started coming into my cave and sitting next to me and watching me play. He's become incredibly observant, asking me questions about the stories, the characters, the settings, the gameplay. He now is actually quite fond of games. He recently found that I want to go into the gaming industry, and I shared with him my ideas for new games and things that I want to see in the industry. Much to my surprise he supported my decision. He's now in full tow behind me and he appreciates my passion of gaming, and is pushing me to succeed in my goals. I will be sharing this game with him. This will be what I show him as the pinnacle of gaming. I'm hoping that this game can bring my dad and I even closer than before and that we can foster a gaming relationship and maybe even do some raiding and treasure hunting together. To all you dad's (and all you would be fathers) out there, it makes me really happy to see stories of dad's sharing this great medium with their children. I know someday I will join your ranks, and I too will share my gaming knowledge with my children. I appreciate everything my dad has done for me, and I'm sure your children will be very appreciative in their futures. Whew good to get that off my chest! See you in the field, fellow Guardians!
