Elemental damage felt appropriate given what we saw.
Having elementally charged weapons is a smart way to ensure players take notice of this without creating the massive, "get the best fire weapon you can for this mission" scenario.
If you go into the situation expecting to have to use something? Fine. Having to go into every situation or mission though? You'll see players not using any other kind of weapon if you increase or decrease the effects or damage of elemental weaponry.
I'd say it's a win win either way, but I'm good with what they have right now. We know what color shield it is? Ok. We know it's weakness for a significant damage boost to the shields + headshots after that? Perfect.

At no point in the main post did I say anything about completely overhauling the way elemental damage works. I simply said that the shields color should not signify which element it's weak against. Instead each element is more effective against a different element and the shields color signifies what element the shield itself is made of. This would allow for enemies to use shields that looked like they were made out of their native element (such as Hive wizards now using void shields instead of solar shields) but without altering which element would be most effective against that shield (the void shield would now be weak against solar damage to compensate for the change.
