Can you give some insight as to why all the top players I look at played the matches like they were team deathmatch instead of control? Not trolling just curious, practicing for competitive maybe or didn't need zones for the win?

  • Apparently capturing zones only gave a score multiplier when getting kills. Heck I didn't know this till around the last day of the beta, and once I did I started doing much better in PvP.

  • LOL, I was always on teams of randoms who were allergic to standing in the control zones. Whole enemy team killing me while my teammates are falling off cliffs or getting shotgunned in the face

  • Hope you realize that Control is a variant of TDM... On top of that, it is more beneficial for top players to secure map control and the area around control points and get kills.

  • Yeah, I get you need kills to win and how you can't secure zones if you already own them. I was just asking the opinion of a top or experienced or whatever player on things I saw while playing and looking at stats. Many times I played on teams with great players and our team would get more kills but lose because of the lone wolf play style of some, when playing with a single friend of similar talents we rarely lost because of map control.

  • 1 person cant hold map control by himself. If a top player is playing solo he'll try his best to slay as much as possible so the other ppl on the team can have an easier time securing flags and HOPEFULLY settin up some type of control. when i play solo and i see randoms in an area ill let them hop the flag or help them neutralize then proceed to cover them cuz its better that way, most randoms in games dont understand the concept of teamwork and think all bunching up on a flag is teamwork then call the nova bomb or hulk smash OP when it was just them being dumb. Only need 1 person on a flag really and have ppl setup to protect the person on the cap so said nova bomb or hulk smasher doesnt wipe everyone out and even if he does get through he'll only get 1 kill before someone else mops up becuz they arent bunched up and thus continue the cap process. Sometimes that "lonewolf" ppl call might not actually be lonewolfing but trying to create openings so his randoms can hop flags some ppl (not u) see someone with alot of kills ingame but not cappin as much and immediately think they lonewolfing or not playin for the team

  • I completely agree with what you said, my example is more along the line of not helping secure or cover. When I said lone wolf I really meant it, as in not helping the team to win except for kills (doesn't care about the win as long as they got their min K/D). Had many of people in the beta run after you came to help capture/fortify/defend a zone Personally I liked the Iron Banner better than regular crucible, more team play/skilled players.

  • iron banner was the exact same only reason u prob think it was more teamplay was becuz mainly ppl in fireteams went in to play and not solo due to gear advantages being turned on. I wont call iron banner more team play/skilled when gear advantages take away from the skill and fireteams goin in will always have high teamplay.....at least i hope lol
