Maybe it's just lore, and the Worlock is saying that he is the beginning and the end
-
Yes because thats more likely than my theory.
-
Honestly the description tells me less about what every is weak to another, but more that there is a circle of energy phases. That void leads to arc which leads to fire which leads to void. Even then, take the fact that it's a warlock chest piece could indicate that this is a warlock saying and has nothing to do with elemental damage systems.
take the fact that it's a warlock chest piece could indicate that this is a warlock saying and has nothing to do with elemental damage systems.
It literally says void, spark, and fire. Those are our 3 elemental types.
-
Except for the part where our third damage isn't fire, it's solar. Even if I were to consider your theory, the chain is void->arc->solar meaning void gives way to arc which gives way to solar, which implies the opposite of what you theorize: void is weak to arc, arc is weak to solar, solar is weak to void.

Okay, so I'm half right?
-
Nope. I would say you're correlating data. While that does open possibilities, there is no evidence that shows that the description of one item details how the games elemental damage system works.
-
Well there still isn't anything saying it can't work that way. Wouldn't it make more sense for the elements to affect each other rather than the shields being color coded solely for the players convenience? There's nothing saying it can't work that way, or that it has to work the other way.
-
You're right. There isn't anything saying it couldn't be that way. I'm just saying it isn't that way.
-
I know it isn't that way, that's why I'm suggesting a change on the feedback forums.
