The shield is only the color of its weakness not made of it

  • What enemy is stupid enough to color code their shields? And besides, from a new players perspective, that orange shield looks a whole lot like it's made of fire. With that in mind, do you really think their first instinct is going to be to hit the shield with the same element they think it's made out of?

  • Ps4 kno it's dumb but that's what it is its like you kno their weakness and all you see is that least I think that's why they did that but I agree it's dumb just wanted to say why they did it

Yes, because people that first get the game will not even know what element is what not will they care enough to use it in there weapons.

  • Oh please, they won't be THAT stupid. When they come into the game, they're going to observe and work off their observations. They're going to see a shield that looks like it's made of fire. By that time they will coicidentaly have a few elemental weapons. They'll probably think "Okay, every other game with elements in it had certain elements weak against others, so natural one of my elemental guns will probably be more effective against that fire shield made of fire. Well since it's made of fire it PROBABLY ISN'T WEAK AGAINST THAT ELEMENT.". If you got a pokemon game, and you say a fire type pokemon, you're gonna wanna use a water type move, because it JUST MAKES SENSE. If you used a fire type move you dealt decreased damage and go the message: "It's not very effective.". Destiny is currently going against a very solid and traditional set of elemental rules in gaming, all because it's shields are different colors. Just one little tweak, and everything will be more logical and more player friendly. Is a change this simple really worth opposing?
