When you ask some one how they got there name there generally is a story behind it. Why not tell us how you got or picked you name.
And I want to say thank you to everyone who's shared there story. It really is interesting to see how everyone got there moniker or call sign.
Btw you guys are like posting once every minute or two.

It's just my last name, I don't mean to brag or anything but it's super creative.

Edited by JordanU: 9/29/2014 8:39:59 PMHmm...JordanU. Well, mine name is Jordan, so there's that. As for the U, I'm not really sure. I was just signing up for something one day, and since JordanC was taken, I just flipped the C into a U. My psn name is simply asdfasdf13. Not really anything special to it.

Edited by YetiErrant: 9/29/2014 8:39:10 PMBack in the days before Xbox Live, I would play Halo over LAN with friends under the name "toxic fumes" because I was like 12 and thought it was funny seeing "...killed by toxic fumes" pop up whenever I sniped someone with the pistol of the gods. I felt a change was in order. My initials are JAM, but I took a page from Jim James's book and changed the J to a Y for shits and giggles. EDIT: "Azkeembobo" is a name I made up when I joined XBL for Halo 2. It literally means nothing, but I like it. The above explanation concerns my PSN name.

Mine is a reference to a Battletech clan Smoke Jaguar. They were wiped out by another clan hence the LastSmokeJaguar. They were my favorite clan to play in both the CCG and miniature game.

Edited by coltsrock11: 9/29/2014 8:21:21 PMI made my psn back in the final glory days of Peyton manning with the colts. Of course, in 2011 I caught tons of crap. After that it was all good though :)

Edited by Cancerkiller05: 8/30/2014 4:57:09 AMSo back in the day of Xbox my buddy's and I use to hold Halo LAN parties. We would have 4 xboxs and 4 TVs. Have 10-16 guys in the apartment. it was the awesomeness of good buddy's having fun playing Halo. I was just finished cancer treatment and used PvP call sign Cancer. During the first match one of my friends noticed "you have been killed by Cancer" and then "you have killed Cancer" we just found it too funny. I was also in the mental high of surviving cancer and its treatment. So when Xbox live needed a call sign I put in Cancerkiller05 as 2005 was my first full year in remission. When I moved to PSN when I purchased PS4 I was lucky enough to maintain my call sign. So look out for Cancerkiller05 on 9/9/14 hope to see you all in destiny.

Edited by IshihadoX: 9/29/2014 8:13:15 PMIshihado was what my grandmother use to call me. Despite the fact that it sounds Asian (Japanese), it's Romanian. The only reason I have an X after it is because this is my second account with XB. My first one was way old and I even forgot what email I used. ^_^ Though, commonly, most everyone else on other games knows me as Phegan.

Hank pym created me. Through constant self updates i was able to achieve this current form.

I boxed when I was younger in high school and was told my style reminded them of Jake La Motta "the raging bull" and it stuck...great movie by the way..
-
A string of random sounds I threw together for an English project in 7th grade. I liked it, so it stuck, and here I am using it for literally everything over a decade later. Still enjoy all of the people having trouble pronouncing it over XBL and other places. "Guh-noiz-ic," "Gonzic," "Gonzo," "Nozic," and "Gonads" are all pretty popular.

Prymal has been my persona since 1991 when I had to create a nickname for irc (EFnet) while in college. Never looked back.

I loved the game Castle Crashers so much I changed my gamer tag to Forgotten Knight so I could represent the missing Black Knight from the game. I joined a clan and in order to progress further in the rank structure I had to add the letters of the organization to my gamertag. Not everything could fit so I chose an equally similar name. The movie The Dark Knight came out recently and everyone was telling me how cool my name was when I changed it.

BKU (BeKindUnwind) is in there as a reminder to those I party with that it's just a game, don't have a stroke, as well as being a previous gamertag of mine that became a clan name, however briefly, which I never dropped because I'm lazy. Mako is the life essence of a planet, which crystallizes into materia. Which is sort of ironic, considering all my kidney stones and soft-tissue calcification.
-
NASA has been my nickname since I was about 5 or 6. It's an acronym for Never A Straight Answer I've always had a tendency to talk my way around questions, I don't do it intentionally though.
...or do I??

Don't judge me.
I chose my name from one of the stars in my constellation for SWTOR 3 years ago and it's kinda grown on me ever since.

Irl my name is ridiculously common, so it's nearly impossible to choose a decent variation as a tag. Koloblicin is a name meaning "strong advisor" in Terry Goodkind's Sword of Truth series. Those books helped me find a measure of confidence in HS, and I've found myself as one whom my friends often come to for advice, so it fits. Coming full circle, it's uncommon enough that I never get that stupid "name already taken" message. Easily shortened to Kolo in game, and any Goodkind fans can identify in the wider world.

i used jet on arcade machines when i was a kid cause i thought it was cool. i use it now because i know its cool.

Jay from the Jay and Silent Bob Kevin Smith characters uses the word Snoogans, so when XBL first launched i had my mind set on getting that as a GT, unfortunately it was taken so a few variations of Snoogans later and i ended up with Snugenz, been using it every since.

Idk. I just came up with mine back in like 2010, and it just stuck.

When I was 11, the first Transformers movie directed by Michael Bay Came out and I really liked Optimus Prime. I didn't want put his name down outright, I was born on the 29th so I made up a witty, yet vague, play on Optimus and tacked 29 to the end And viola, a legend was born

My last name is Jester.
