When you ask some one how they got there name there generally is a story behind it. Why not tell us how you got or picked you name.
And I want to say thank you to everyone who's shared there story. It really is interesting to see how everyone got there moniker or call sign.
Btw you guys are like posting once every minute or two.

I was automatically assigned a username Rye78 by Westwood for playing Tiberian Sun back in the day, the name stuck everywhere until I started playing eve online and said -blam- to random numbers after a username and took up the name Kuromugi, which literally translates to Dark / Black Wheat (Rye). And I've used it in almost every resent game I've played. The irony is I was forced to add numbers to my PSN ID because apparently someone took my username... I used the last 3 of my service number. Hence, Kuromugi_972 was born.

I am a big fan of Borderlands and my favorite character, Krieg the Psycho, said a lot of weird, hilarious, and memorable things. One of the things he would say sometimes was, "NIPPLE SALADS!" and I thought that was hilarious and I figured it would make a great name.

Mine is a funny story. A while back when I got Armored Core Last Raven, on the cover and in the game there is a boss called "Cascade Range". However, due to the amount of characters that fit into the name box I was certain that the boss was supposed to be called "Cascade Ranger". So when I made my PSN I chose that name in honor of the Armored Core. Only to later find out that he was in fact named after the mountain range in Washington know as the cascade range. Which is why quite a few people have thought I reside in Washington.

Back in the early days of Halo 3 I was an avid contributor on Halopedia. There was another user named 'HaloDude.' When the time came to change my gamertag, I wanted to stick with something Halo-related since that was the only thing I played at the time. I shamelessly stole his username and turned it into the simple, elegant, and descriptive name by which I'm known today.

My friends called me Gravity in Call of Duty Blackops II because of how easily I downed some of the better players in our private matches. The name kind of stuck, but Gravity will never ever be available for use in any major game or console. So it just kind of evolved into G R A V O C over time with me trying to find something powerful and unique.

Kawika is my name in Hawaiian. My PSN tag is Deified13. Deified is because, there has to be something devine with someone who can die so much and keep coming back. 13 is a significant number to me in RL.

Maneki neko - If you've been to an oriental business, they usually have a cat statue that has a paw in the air. That's so it will attract customers to the store. Actual translation is "Beckoning Cat" but sometimes called "Lucky Cat". Nekomata - Cat monster / demon from Japanese mythology Run the two together and you have "Beckoning cat monster". I"m a long-time anime fan (sadly I don't get to watch as much anime these days though) and I like puns / plays on words.
