The only problem I see with this post is the use of tolerate. While I know what it means and obviously OP knows what it means as he used it logically and correctly I don't think others know what I really means. EX: gay marriage. Everybody says they tolerate gays but not really as when it comes time to vote they actually try to take away a freedom they do deserve. I'll make it no secret that I personally am not a fan of them but I'll do nothing to hinder them in any way
On a side note about the military OP the organization itself is respectable and the majority of soldiers are respectable but there are bad people everywhere and in everything. your comments on the thread yesterday you blatantly disrespected, ( not tolerated) the organization itself by basically saying it's not worthwhile to a future Marine
your comments on the thread yesterday you blatantly disrespected, ( not tolerated) the organization itself by basically saying it's not worthwhile to a future Marine
I wholeheartedly stand behind the comments I made and will continue to. If you found it disrespectful to the military to question whether it is worthwhile in joining, then I don't know what to say to you. I'm certainly not apologising simply for discussing whether it's worth joining the army or not. I also found it particularly interesting that nobody yet has asked why I thought it wasn't worthwhile. Instead, people decided to engage in personal attacks, lose all sense of rationality, and instead claim it was disrespectful, as if questioning the validity of employment in the army is somehow blasphemous. They should be ashamed of themselves for such utterly ridiculous behaviour.

Have you considered some of them might have actually served been in battle and lost friends? They have a right to be rash as logic while may look good on paper does not account for happiness I'm a straight A student and scored well enough on my SAT to go to any college I can think of and have been offered scholarships in both football and rugby. While logically I should use those scholarships and go to college I don't want too, doesn't mean that I won't do it someday I would rather join the marines too save lives as that is what I think is important. Point is I won't be happy at college. and on a side note while respect( which does not mean like) is determined by the individual whereas disrespect is universal as it's only shown through actions or words and you could have said something like sorry I don't mean disrespect but I still think my comments have merit. Nevertheless I'm actually interested on why you think joining the military isn't worthwhile to you now that you brought it up
