I am a hunter in Destiny and I personally love having hand cannons as a primary weapon because I am only good with them and if they had it as a special then I won't be able to use a sniper without changing my weapon.

I just feel like if they change the hand cannon then it'll be just like the Hunter's golden gun but for every class.

I'm not saying to make it a 1 shot kill. I just want to be able to compensate for the lack of versatility and the fact that if I'm being overrun by enemies, I won't have time to switch primary weapons and will probably have my sniper rifle equipped in the other slot. And forget about heavy weapons. Three quarters of the time, I can't even find ammo for the thing. A few shots and a long reload isn't going to help me much against a level 12 captain if I'm level 8.

Exactly, the hand cannons just need a slight buff in my opinion.

Same here, but I use that set up on my warlock as the grenade and glide get me out if trouble faster if I'm over run.
