A problem with hunter supers vs titan and warlock

Hey guys, nice to meet you all, this is my first post in the forums. I decided to come out to point out the only issue i really feel i have with the supers and balance. I hope you understand i'm sincere here, and not just whining. Seriously no hate to titans or warlocks <3 I only have one point to touch on here this post, after playing all the classes to level 8 and several matches in the crucible with them. I feel they the hunter if used right is very powerful indeed , and should not be buffed so much in its performance, but lets talk about that animation. Right now, hunter's are the only ones that i have to think about using their super before an engagement, because if they try to pop it during the middle of a fight, they are just going to get shot in the face. Titans and warlocks are both reactive skills that can be used immediately upon need, where the hunter has to think ahead and smartly or its probably wasted. This also really sucks for example if your prediction of engagement is incorrect and cant find someone to even use it on, now you just wasted your super. however, I'm certainly not going to wait until someone is aiming a gun at my head to do a second long animation. The best situation is running back to hide for a second while we go through our destiny sailor moon cinematic then we know we have someone to use it on. Proposed solution: Shoulder mode third person aim immediately upon activation like mass effect and go back into first person only after its finished, possibly shorten the animation time. This way we can line up our shot reactively, while you can keep the flashy animation youve worked hard on and want us to see. Maybe let us override it to shoot so we don't die. Otherwise, let us stay in first person and just have the golden gun materialize in our hand so we can use it faster. TLDR Golden gun should be more reactive skill like titan and warlock instead of a prediction skill. Everything else i find pretty fair so far. Great job! Thanks guys for listening to this hunter.

  • Something to consider since nobody else has brought it up. Gametype matters when it comes to supers. We've only experienced Control. Because the focus is on capturing a small parcel of land, an AoE super like the titan's/warlock's is great because you know exactly where an enemy is and you know there's a good chance you'll find multiple targets capturing or defending the point. A big, deadly, one time use super works great here. But how would that same super fare in a death match game? In all honesty you'll probably get just one kill most of the time, two if you're lucky. Three will be a rarity for sure. Now, think about that golden gun. You can get several seconds of one shot kills at a good range. Doubles and triples won't be hard if you're moving strategically and you have good aim. My point is that there is a time and place for each super to be effective. I personally believe all the supers are friggin' awesome and perfectly balanced. I hope they don't change.
