So I was just looking through the BBC website and a article appeared about somebody talking about their top 5 games, the picture accompanying the article was the Master Chief.
It seems even though everybody and their grandma knows about Call of Duty, Halo still has something CoD does not, the eye and memory of an entire Generation and is a generational Icon like Mario and Sonic before.
Do you you think Call of Duty could ever claim the same privilege that Halo has or is their no character for people to identify with preventing it to be lifted to a similar position?

It's hard for COD because with the WWII games, you were a nameless, faceless GI. Ok, fine, we don't need fictional heroes for that war. The problem began with 4. Price was only a nod from his ancestor in WW III, and wasn't the hero until MW 2. But it was too late- Treyarch already released WaW and after 2 did Black ops. Ghosts was just another of their continuity problems w/ lore. Halo has invariably been consistent, thus the recognition
