They specifically didn't put one on the game because you are supposed to learn the area yourself and having a digital guide is just making it too easy

Really? I must have missed where that's was stated, also please read the post, you don't get a "digital guide"... You get a map you progressively discover as you explore the areas. I doubt they intended for this game, which theoretically fits all gamers, to require you to memorize an immense world with multiple locations on multiple planets across a solar system!

I understand many people want it and it would be nice only as a reference, but i think setting your own waypoints makes knowing the area worthless and then you are just making a beeline for the waypoint and not seeing the fantastic world that Bungie has made for us
