What Officially matters in the Standard Crucible?

I understand that players are scaled to ensure that all Guardians are playing "equally", but I want to know if our Gear/Weapons matter at all, and if so... what specifically is contributing to our overall advantages? Thanks in Advance, Bungie & Community posts appreciated!

  • You still need to look at the stats of your weapon. The only thing that don't matter are attack and defense, which increase, and decrease damage taken. Weapon effects, and skills, work in pvp. If you have a legendary weapon with all of its many effects, you will have a clear advantage over someone with an uncommon weapon.

      • impact counts as your damage basically then you wanna look at your rate of fire and reload times and get a feel for the kick n all, range hasnt made too big of a diference as far as i can tell on a lot of guns. Your attack rating on weapons are scaled so everyone has the same base atk basically and then your defense doesnt matter so u just look at your classes armor recovery and agility to compare basically.
