  • I think the gunslinger is fine Imagine if you got your wish. You could probably get 6 nearly guaranteed kills. The thing about the other two supers is that they are AOE. Get denied access by a nova bomb? Don't go into the area then. Get wiped out along with the rest of your team? Shouldn't have stuck so close together. They can get up to 6 kills in one instant. If GG had 6 shots and more time you could literally run around the map and own everything in your path for however long you'd want it to be. I'm a hunter and I strongly disagree. The golden gun has much more potential range and definitely much more accuracy, especially if you add the skill points to it. It's fine the way it is.

      • I worry that if bungie does buff the hunter, they will Nerf the hunter into the ground at a later date. I agree it's underpowered when compared to the other two as a whole. Arc blade is the shit though. Just saying.

        Majatek, I see where you are coming from with this statement and agree to a degree. As a hunter myself, I am often faced with the same inference from time to time when their powers are used against me. You have to understand that every class is made to accomplish different goals, otherwise, what would be the difference between classes? The Titan is a close quarter fighter with an ability that can be used awfully quickly. It's hard to see coming and hard to dodge until it is too late unless you see it coming from a distance. The Warlock is a mid-ranged to short range fighter. It's slower to activate than the Titans but faster than the hunters. It's easier to dodge if you see a warlock setting up a shot. The Hunter is a distance fighter. It has the longest time to activate the ability but is near impossible to dodge unless you kill the hunter first or the user is a terrible shot. Unless used incorrectly or stupidly, it is a guarantee kill or more. The Titan an the Warlocks abilities are AoE attacks thus if two people are distanced far enough from each other, only one will die. But in matches such as the capture the zone game, it is possible to kill a whole team if they're stupid. In my experience with the capture the zone game, there is hardly more than 3 or 4 people capturing a zone at a time except for the first minute or two of the game. Most are either being killed while going to a capture point, defending a point, being revived to run and defend/capture a point, camping a point, or being killed at a point. The Hunter is able to kill someone and perhaps travel halfway across the map and get another one. This is the best for team deathmatch where the enemy team isn't likely all huddled together. Since I am a Hunter, I will be able to go a little more in depth with it; As I have used it, I am a crowd control person. I am able to activate my ability and kill just about everyone at a control point. There is also an ability to obtain multiple kills with one shot, so with some skill and luck, you have the potential to kill 6 people. There is also the Hunters second ability that is close quarters and can hit up to six times (I believe). I haven't used it on PvP so I won't go into detail as to what it can do.

          • I don't think the hunter's super is that underpowered. I just think that the increased resistance to damage that warlocks and titans get when the super should be removed. That way they can't use their super as a reaction to almost dying. Removing it would make using it require a bit more strategy. They need to at least lessen it.

              I play just fine as a Hunter and find all classes are balanced. Threads like this are not helpful in the forums. Edit: with that being said...9/10

                • Not trying to be an ahole, but I personally have seen people kill the entire team using the arc blade. I've also done it myself and just like you said for the other classes, must be huddled or close by. Now the golden gun..I don't see the issue? Ya you get three shots, and ya it's kind if short. But as someone mentioned before, you can over penetrate with it. I and most of my team were slaughtered from 2 shots of the golden gun..it takes aim, patience and a bunch a fools running together to make it happen..but I've seen it happen and done it myself quite often. So really I think it just comes down to how you play the pvp modes and the kind of players you're up against to really make the most of the golden gun special..I just wish there was open chat for pvp so we could hear people cry about being one shotted lol.

                    • I disagree completely. I play Hunter (and other classes). If you want more kills for your super (quantity), play Bladedancer. The Golden Gun is useful because you can kill someone across the map, and space out your kills. While you CAN potentially get more kills as the other classes, that is entirely dependent on positioning. If the enemy team is together on a point, then absolutely you can knock them all out. But that's what your teammates are for. AOE. Hunters are the clean up crew. You can kill everyone coming from each angle. It's all about roles, man. The Sunsinger cant kill 6 enemies at once!. But coming back to life is amazing!!

                      • Hunter isn't underpowered, it works differently than the other classes, and for a reason. To promote [b]Teamwork[/b]. While other classes may be able to solo better than others, the Hunter can straight up kill people with one shot. Whenever I throw down my Nova Bomb, I usually only get one kill. You can spread out your BS Golden Gun damage to 3-4 enemies over about 10-15 seconds as long as you're accurate.

                        • Iv'e discovered there are supers for PvP and those for PvE. For ex. A titan as you know has the defender sub class along side the striker sub class. The defender is crap in PvP, while in PvE you provide an area of sanctuary while enemies blast the living ____ out of your shield. I haven't played as a warlock so I can't provide accurate accounts of their supers. During Beta I played as a Hunter. While I didn't use blade dancer, Beta being the reason, golden gun is great at eliminating VIP targets in PvE, while blade dancer is great in PvP, because you one shot kill melee everyone and move super fast. It's mostly in my opinion based on what your playing.

                              Thing is, yes a warlock or a titan can get an entire team, on average they don't. Hunters tend to get more kills per super charge than titans or warlocks. Also, the golden gun is easy mode. Combine the enormous hit box that the game has with the even more enormous hit box that golden gun gives, you basically have to be retarded to miss. Also the arc blade thing is really -blam!-ing powerful. Ive seen multiple hunters roll through 4 titans with shot guns and come out just fine while using it

                              • You have an upgrade ability on both of your subclasses to extend your super duration and get your super quicker. And arc blade cant kill a whole team!? Gtfo. if you cant rack up kills as a hunter, you're plsying the class wrong

                                • Totally disagree and I play a hunter. Other supers can wipe a room, but a golden gun hunter can kill a guy in the hall, kill the defender guarding A, and then kill the player rushing in to stop you from capping it. Doesn't sound overpowered to me. Maybe learn when to use your super?

                                • I think its the subtlety in the Hunter's super compared to an earth shaking Fist of Havoc, or a glass cannon of a Nova Bomb that makes the class so lethal. Yeah you can only get 3 kills (On average) but the Hunter's gunslinger class was meant for the enjoyment of people who'd be focused on precision to get kills. What's more once the Hunter activates either of its abilities you have guardians doing their best to either get the hell out of your way or fighting to cut you down. To be able to instill a reaction in other players, and immediately interrupt their focus is power in itself. Don't lose hope just yet in your power guardian!

                                • I think sadly this forum is correct, getting one shotted with shotguns and fusion rifles during archblade mode is unfair. and watching as titans one shot everyone standing on a cap and warlocks killing my entire team in seconds with a very short window to kill him/counter the attack is just salt in the wound.
