[quote] In an accompanying statement and petition, Greenpeace explained: "Shell's global advertising deal with Lego is part of a carefully thought-out strategy by Shell to buy Friends who can make its controversial arctic drilling plans look acceptable and misleadingly associate it with positive values. Lego is one of the most beloved and admired toy companies in the world, and Shell knows that this deal will not only increase profits, but also improve the reputation of a company known for recklessly threatening the fragile arctic [/

What do you think about all of this ? I don't find it bad really... But they are very different business companies... It's weird they are partners

I don't think to much of it. And people may be making this two big a deal, when kids see Legos they do not think or process that hey this company is a oil company. They are good and don't hurt the artic. They look at Legos and build from there imagination. As a kid I rarely ever made what the actual kit was for. We had a bin filled to the brim with Legos that we would just take pieces and build castle, city's, cars, boats, planes hell whatever we felt like. I never once thought more into what was on the set than what I was building. Kids are going to see this and not give two shits about shell, and I'm pretty sure half the boys will make some death machine to kill there friends creation any way. I know I did. I think Greenpeace doesn't care about the partnership but more of the publicity to be earned by standing against this in the adult community.
