Now here's a question. How many planets/moons are we visiting? There are 9 planets in our solar system plus multiple moons for some. We can exclude going to Uranus, Neptune, Jupiter, and Saturn directly as they are gas planets with little to no chance of solid ground, but there are the moons we can go to (Europa being the only one I can remember the name of right now being an example). now we know of one on earth and mars meaning we are down to 3 places by your count of already used places now it would probably be safe to assume there will be one on the moon giving us 3 "known" bunkers so my question is how many places are we visiting and how many bunkers are there or at the very least relays plus what will be the 7th location if we use all of the "obvious" places (Mercury, Venus, Pluto, Earth, Mars and the Moon)? This is not saying anything you've said is wrong here but just want to hear further speculation on you speculation.

There were three other planet silhouettes in the beta; so we know Mars and Venus, perhaps the third is Europa, a moon. Either way, I still feel confident, whether moons or planets, that the key plot will be awakening the seven seraphs scattered across our system.

Didn't bungie talk about some robotic race taking safe haven over in Pluto? If so, we'll eventually go there to fight those baddies, so why would there not be a vault there? Unless of course the traveler just skipped Pluto.
-
Maybe he thinks it's not a planet either :'(
-
Lol not any more!

1. Mercury 2. Venus 3. Earth. 4. Moon 5. Mars 6. Europa (Jupiter) 7. Titan or Enceledus (Saturn's version of Europa). Other possibilities: Triton (Neptune), and Pluto.

I know Im a little late to this party but they tell us things of how the traveler helped us such has turning Mercury into a Garden Planet. There is more online. Look at the ViDoc I think that has all the info
-
I'm meaning this as (almost) pure speculation I figured about the planets with solid ground but we know very little beyond that and the question I have is could there be more than 7 bunkers since there are more than 7 planets/moons.
-
If the Bunkers are only for the seven seraphs, then I doubt it. Bungie rarely plays with that formula; seven halo installations, seven seraphs, so seven bunkers to house each, to guard God, or in this case, the Traveler.
I'm meaning this as (almost) pure speculation I figured about the planets with solid ground but we know very little beyond that and the question I have is could there be more than 7 bunkers since there are more than 7 planets/moons.
I do believe the ViDoc said something about the traveler doing something about a gas planet. I will re-find the video and post what I hear.

There could be floating stations on the gas giants, like Bespin.
-
Yea like Satellite stations in orbit
-
That. Would be cool. 0.0

Edited by Silas Err: 7/23/2014 11:58:23 AMIt's a safe assumption that we'll see some of the major moons of Jupiter and Saturn (e.g. Europa, Io, Titan). Mercury is an interesting prospect, though.

8 planets. Pluto hasn't been a planet since I was in grade school.
-
I learned it was a planet that's how I will think of it.
-
It's still a planet damn it!!!! ='(
-
Lol that's what I was taught as well

Pluto isn't a planet because of its unusual elliptical orbit around the sun which sees it cross Neptunes orbit. It's close but just not good enough to make team planet.
-
Not all astronomers agree. The organization that declared Pluto to be a "dwarf planet" claims to speak for the entire Astronomy community, but doesn't in reality. The reality is that Pluto ran into a political problem. There was the possibility of encountering many objects the size of Pluto out in the Kuiper Belt...and possiblity of having to add many more "planets" to our Solar System. Which was "fixed" by simply declaring that----after nearly a century---Pluto was simply no longer a "real" planet.
-
Exactly many of them argue that calling it a 'dwarf planet' as its no longer a 'planet' is simply confusing matters.

What if the traveller made it possible for life/land to be on one of the gas planets?
-
That would be one hell of a miracle. Gas Giants are mostly, if not entirely, made up of gas such as hydrogen. They are basically the opposite of an environment that could support contemporary life. It would be much more likely that the Traveler would terraform a moon, such as Europa (Io would be interesting to visit as well if it weren't for the lethal radiation), rather than the actual gas giant.
