A Global/Local chat in the tower is a MUST.

The game will flounder without something like this. A key element of Destiny are it's Strikes and Raids. For games of these types, it is imperative to be able to organize, advertise positions for, and invite people in real time, without having to go to a forum of some kind. Also, a chat will facilitate the social interaction this game is desperately missing. Yes, people will be annoyed having to type with the in-game keypad, but they'll get over it. They'll get used to it. And there's always the option to plug in a wireless/wired keyboard. I don't understand why Bungie has stuck their head in the mud with this. Maybe they envision their perfect game is so good it doesn't "need" chat, we can all just endlessly dance together! >.> Warframe has a great example of how they could possibly do the chat. A little inconspicuous menu you can pull up from the side. You can invite people from the chat, you get a group of people who want to play right now, etc.

  • I Agree with both of you! We need to be able to hear other players within approximately 30 feet of where you are. that way we can all simply stand together and have a group chat. But we also need to be able to MUTE a character just as well. We also need an Emote to drop our head down and shake "No" in disapproval for all the people jumping off the tower.. :)
