You are all welcome. Anyone who watched it in English on Netflix isn't a true fan. Watch the Japanese version with subtitles, it sounds so much better. I tried to bear the English voices, but they don't feel nearly as strong, just as many animes fall off when they aren't in Japanese.

  • I am not a huge fan of Anime. I never got it. But that's the extent of what I have to say about it, I'm never going to put someone down for loving it. I have numerous family members and friends who love it. To each his own. What's funny is I used to feel bad that I didn't like it, like there was something wrong with me. The same thing happened many years ago when a few of my friends loved D&D ... I tried to love it, but just ended up thinking, "This is supposed to be fun?" Well there are things I like that others don't like, and vice-versa. I guess that's what makes us all different. Hey at least none of us are selling Amway or Advocare ... Now that would be the makings of a true horror story. OH THE HUMANITY!!! LOL

  • You really have to have a group that is funny and into it, my friend would do ridiculous stuff like roll to get struck by lightning or rolled to put sunglasses on in a cool way to impress someone. He rolled a two and ended up poking himself in the eye. Our DM was really good as well, because he wrote his own campaigns.

  • THANK YOU SIR!! The original Japanese dubbed with English subtitles is (almost) always the best! The few exceptions are DBZ, Soul Eater (if only for Lord Death's voice), Yu Yu Hakusho, and a couple others.

  • I watched it on Netflix... Only options on there that were available was Japanese Audio with English subtitles, at least when I watched it last. Did they recently add English to it since the release of it on DVD and Blu-ray?

Pretty sure it was in English last time I checked. It sounds ridiculous.

  • I concur with this now. While I did watch it in Japanese with English subs on Netflix, the other night I was channel surfing and saw that adult swim, I think it was, was airing it. So out of curiosity I gave it a shot. Good god what have they done to that show?!?!?! Seriously... it sounds wretched compared to the original...

  • Right? It's awful compared to the original and so many people like this show based on the English version, not knowing better or caring.

  • You just don't understand the gap in passion in the characters when it is dubbed in English compared to the original. There are some things you just can't translate.

  • If anything, I feel like that detracts from the experience to have to read everything that gets said. If I wanted to read, I'd go to my bookshelf. But hey. What do I know right? Apparently I just don't understand. My opinion must be invalid because its different.

  • I understand you perfectly, that's exactly how I was at first, try to watch an anime you are already familiar with, such as Naruto, watch with subtitles, it is super weird at first but by a few episodes you get use to it and it isn't a problem at all. I watch almost all my anime in the original Japanese because their passion feels so much more real than the English dubs, but it takes time to get to that point. Just work at it and by the second season of whatever you watch you can watch the animation and read the words with the bottom of your eyes no problem. Trust me on this.

  • The voices sound ridiculous in English, I didn't say it was invalid, you are just dumb for thinking that way is all.
I didn't say it was invalid

you are just dumb
Right. Your way is the only way. What a clown. Let me get this straight. You don't know Japanese (hence the subtitles) but listening to Japanese being spoken and reading a translation comes off as more passionate?
