That's wrong though no? I'm in the UK. it's 16:15pm now and the clock says 1 day 15hours.... That means it's up and running at 08:15 am in the UK on 17/Jul - But it isn't.....

You sure. It will start at different times for everyone. Some people will be at the end of the day, middle, or beggining. With your case its probably true.

That countdown timer has to be correct...because that's how time works. No matter what time zone that timer is counting down for...we know the same countdown is accurate for us because countdowns include all time zones (ever watch a space shuttle launch? It always launches at 0 no matter where in the world you are watching it from). A normal clock doesn't....but that's not a normal clock, simply a countdown. So whenever that clock hits 0 for you, the game should be live for you. Besides....wouldn't you rather have the game up and running at 8am in the morning as apposed to late at night when the 17th is almost over? Or for some...the 18th? This countdown timer seems to be the most accurate for a beta launch. In the morning.....early morning.

If it's right - why state 10:00am PDT? That's 6:00pm UK-BST. Every part of me hopes the Bungie countdown timer is correct. It'll take hours for me to download anyway so, being able to do so through the working day is a huge plus.

I'm not saying your question is invalid.....but someone, somewhere, put up erroneous information. I think the 'beta' site copied the wording that's on the PSN store, and all the retailers as well. The timer went up first; and therefore I believe it is accurate. It's possible that the bungie update could have been for a particular time zone but without knowing what was in the head of the person who made that post, it's hard to say. I'm siding with the original bungie countdown timer. We'll see how that goes :)

As it is, you are now corrected. The timer on www.destinythegame.com/beta is now showing the countdown time with the added 10 hours to make it correct.

Yeah... imagine my horror when I learned it's NOT midnight... because for me "midnight" in the west coast of USA means 10 am, meaning I could have woken up to play straight away... now I need to wait until 8 pm -_-

Ugh. I was hoping the timer was accurate. 3am to start download so I could wake up later to it finished and start.....wait...who am I kidding... id have stayed awake and waited it out :P

but the official bungie one says its going to start at 8am for me, where as yours says 6pm.
