You should still be able to access your 8 year account and relink everything you have back to it.

To my understanding - I believe my super old bungie.net username 'trapsrus' was under an old yahoo mail I had deleted due to a breach. My current information is under Octsober under my new yahoo account I had made a few years after deleting my older yahoo account. Still with me here? This may get confusing... What I think happened was, when I unlinked my 'trapsrus' account I completely kicked and locked myself out of it because there's 'technically' no email associated with it. However, what I don't understand is how the system picks-up my current linked email - showing all my halo stats, backing my 8 year bungie profile, unfortunately without the awesome 8 year badge. :( I may have unlinked my old account from the gmail account. When I was doing research on how to make the swap, I noticed people suggested using junk gmail accounts to unlink profiles. I used my actual gmail account to do so. Now it's it's own entity. I should have just linked the old account to my psn and been done with it! I fear I'm S - O - L :(

Bungie's system shouldn't let you just casually unlink the final account attached to a Bungie.net profile. The 8 year badge is the result of your Bungie.net profile, not the Microsoft account that may have been originally attached to it. There has to be something still connected to it, probably the junk google+ accounts, do you have any way to remember the logins to the junk google+ accounts you created?
