Solutions for the future of Destiny's Xbox fans
I'm writing this firstly because I believe like many of fans that this beta and others things are unfair. So PS users got an Alpha and that should have been enough, but to prevent Xbox users getting their fair share is just alienating us. I think the best thing to do instead of complain is to speak out and ask for this to be amended. So I've started a poll to ask what you guys would like to fix this. I personally think extending the Beta to be the same length as the PS users but extending post 26th, so they get their exclusive early access. There are other issues including DLC that contains more things for the PS than the Xbox, which will be charged at the same price on all platforms. Again this is equally unfair and one sided. To those PS user who will no doubt mock this post, please read carefully that I haven't mocked you and all I want is some form of active fair user policy for all of us.
Please vote honestly and post your concerns, but please be constructive and help your fellow gamers.
Also thanks to Darth Turelim for point out, that it would be really helpful if everyone who votes posts a comment to that effect. Please also share this out and maybe we can get something changed.

4 RepliesI like the equal and differing exclusives for both consoles! Who knows? Maybe Bungie will make an Xbox exclusive Halo Easter Egg and perhaps a map remake!

Or we could just accept things as is. It is, after all, a beta, and we will get the full game when other players do. Adapt and move on, then drop the entitled attitude. It's toxic and damaging to our community.

I feel extending the Beta time to equal amount of days would be fair and would no doubt keep xbox users at bay untill release. If not, Reduced or diffrent DLC would be my 2nd choice.

23 RepliesMaybe the solution would be to make the entire game PS4 exclusive. People can't really feel like they're getting a lesser version of the game if they can't get the game at all. It seems some customers think that Bungie should break contracts to spare their little feelings. Why not just cancel the game for those players altogether? They'd lose money either way, but at least certain customers won't have to feel like they bought a weaker version. Yeah, if Bungie really loved you they'd cancel the game for Xbox to protect your butthurt.

Microsoft can make a separate deal if they wanted to for their own set of exlusive DLC unless it violates the deal Activision has with Sony.

Less money already IS being paid.. you guys need to realize that. Sony is paying an ADDITIONAL fee for each DLC to add content. So yes, the consumers pay the same, but Sony is basically paying another 10$ for each of us when we purchase the DLC. Where the money comes from it does not matter, one way or another the DLC that has additional content is costing ADDITIONAL MONEY. Microsoft had the same exact chance, and passed on it. It's business. Plain and simple.

You're still getting all the content, and the beta, they're just timed exclusive to PlayStation platforms. It's independently developed content that Sony paid for in order to market the PS4. You're still getting the same game and all the base content that was originally intended for the game, not to mention that you'll still get the Playstation exclusive content later on anyway. I guess being on the other end of that stick this time sucks, doesn't it? Microsoft has been paying loads of cash for timed exclusive content for years (instead of spending money on actual exclusives, but that's another story). Sony does it with Destiny and now Xbox players are throwing fits that Bungie has [i]"forgotten their roots"[/i] and is [i]"neglecting their fans."[/i] They haven't and they're not, they have fans on PlayStation too you know. If I owned a PS3 and an X360, can I not be both a Playstation fan and a Halo fan (and therefore a Bungie fan)? Personally, I think timed exclusive anything is a stupid idea regardless of who does it, but that's not the point. The point is you guys are seriously overreacting to something that isn't even a problem. And on top of all of that, Activision is the one that would have set up the exclusivity deal with Sony. Bungie is simply the ones left to promote the game and therefore promote the Playstation exclusives. Oh and lets not forget, the GTA IV DLC was exclusive to the Xbox 360 for a year. GTA had become what it was up to that point as a Playstation franchise, but Rockstar decided to take the franchise multi-platform. And the Xbox 360 version is getting timed exclusive content? Outrageous. No, wait, its just business. You have to deal with it (or get the other console). I chose to just wait the year out for the GTA IV DLC. And GTA IV's DLC content was much more significant than Destiny's exclusive content. So, in conclusion, can't we all just get along and enjoy this great game, regardless of which console we're playing on?

17 RepliesHonestly the only thing that can be done about Destiny 1 at this point is ask Bungie for transparency about the deal with Sony. What extra timed exclusives do they get with each expansion, and will we have to pay for any of it when it stops being exclusive. What you can do for future Destiny titles, assuming the deal only spans one title, is send a letter to Microsoft expressing that Destiny is an important title to you, and you're considering jumping ship to their competitor Sony for the exclusive content associated with Destiny. Enough letters and attention like this may sway Microsoft to out pay Sony for exclusives associated with Destiny. The other thing you can do is send letters to Activision/Bungie expressing your displeasure with the type of exclusives/amount of exclusives your platform doesn't get, and you're considering to stop supporting the franchise. I would say Playstation users, send some letters aswell, explaining you don't like the industry practice of timed exclusives, or the extremes this deal imparticular has gone. But when you're on the good side of things, who cares right? You won't change anything with this title, but something can be done about the future.

2 RepliesThe "same price for DLC" is a problem that stems from vagueness on what the timed content in the DLC really is (and when it's going to launch). For a $20 DLC, you'd expect that the elements that add to the lore of the universe will all be included, otherwise it's like starting the Lair of the Shadow Broker DLC on Mass Effect 2 only to have it stop midway saying "Sorry, finish this little tale in the Fall." Companies could do that, but their DLC wouldn't sell well on the console that's getting seriously stiffed. My guess is that the exclusive content within the DLCs is just some guns and armors, and they'll be available later on, as is the deal with the unnamed content. While sad, keep in mind that Destiny is all about loot, and it will be abundant. You may very well find better guns and armor than are temporarily exclusive to Playstation anyway. In any case, if no one has those armaments on Xbox, at least the playing field stays balanced. So while not everything will be included in the DLC immediately, don't expect a massive chunk to be missing.

Unless I see that written and confirmed that sounds like a load of chinese whispers... if that was the case they'd have to package up a DLC twice, submit it to be verified and rated twice, which really sounds like it's going to happen, doesn't it? As for all this talk of getting a fair deal; you're talking to the wrong people. Bungie are giving all this (well, very marginal content) to PS because Sony payed for it. You honestly think they'll turn around and do the same for Xbox when Microsoft clearly have not? That's not a very sound business decision, and would undoubtedly break an exclusivity contract they have with Sony... resulting in them getting taken to the cleaners.

I had to buy a 360 because Microsoft money hatted, like every game I played.. to the point where it made it pointless to play it on a ps3 and I HAD to go and buy one, you ain't owed anything man, this ain't the 360 gen no more, do you know how many Microsoft people got something? . Tons, cause they played the alpha on ps4, because they realized that last Gen is over.... No one put a gun to your head to buy the one or stick with a company(microsoft) out of touch with their fanbase

Lol it isn't going to change. I laugh not at you. I can understand your feelings, but in all reality, it just isn't going to happen. No amount of community complaints on this are going to replace the most likely million/millions or so dollars Sony paid to Activision to get those things. That money went to developing the game in general. We wouldn't be getting the same game without that money. Activision just leveraged a way to get investment. It wasn't against you, just like Playstation never getting a Halo game wasn't against them. It was a business transaction. I would also like to point out that Bungie was willing to walk away from the IP that they crafted in order to be free of Microsoft. That may have left them with a bad taste in their mouth, but it doesn't mean that they won't make a sound business decision, like still producing games for the Xbone. All in all the poll is a little silly. Now I would be all for them just stretching out the Beta, but not the exclusive portion, but just extending the Beta for both platforms. I think we should all have more time on the Beta. If anyone is like me, I am losing my mind over not being able to play this game... The Alpha only succeeded in getting me addicted. WAITING TIL SEPTEMBER?!?!?! I might lose my mind. I know it isn't on the Xbone, but I will be streaming July 17th. I had 50+ hours on the Alpha and with few exceptions, I am fairly certain I saw more than most. I even made it to Vanguard Rank 3 which was the highest pve rank attainable as far as I could tell. I also have Smite and the PS+ games for the last 3 months. I am also giving away an Extra Destiny Beta Key tonight at 9pm, although I haven't figured out how I am giving it away yet. (I am open to suggestions.)

So, are the PS guys going to go on Turtle Rocks website and start complaining and petitioning that XBO users get an exclusive Beta and all DLC first next? How about complaining about all of the different store exclusive DLC incentives out there?? It's just business, nothing new. If people are so bent out of shape over a level and some skins then I think people need to find a new hobby. Also, it's a BETA, be lucky that any of these companies even open the gates allowing you to play it at all. 4-5 days is plenty. Who knows, they might even extend it like they did with the alpha just for the heck of it. I'm an XBO user and am getting the Ghost Edition and I personally have no problem with any of this at all. But then again I'm in my late 30's, understand how things work and don't feel owed anything by any company just because I have purchased their past products. Sony laid out a nice amount of cash and incentives and that's all it is, just like how MS does it for CoD and Titanfall (not to mention Evolve and many more games). Remember when Sony got all of BF3's content first last gen? People, just give it up and worry about real things in your life lol. The game will have so much for you to do when it comes out. Hell, I bet most of the people complaining about this wouldn't have even used any of the DLC anyways!!!! Take this as a general statement being said to the complainers, I'm not directing this at the thread originator. Thanks. Oh, and enjoy the game!
