Hello friend! in order to do this. You'll have to follow the instructions outlined in the following thread, FAQ for Linking/Unlinking from your user profile. In essence, you'll have to first unlink your old PSN account with a shell account and then link another shell account to your new PSN to move that to where you want it. • Same goes for me. I'm trying to link my PSN account to my XBL account. But every time i get the error pop-up telling me to log out and log in the other account then reattempt to unlink. But, it keep signing in to whatever account I'm logged to even with 2 different windows AND 2 different devices. So there's no way i can unlink it.

So you have a dummy account linked to the account you wish to unlink, but every time you go to log into the dummy account, it automatically logs you into your other account?

  • Okay, i've managed to unlink. But now I have a problem with how do i check which PSN account is linked with my xbox account. Is there anyway to do this? I want to make sure its my gmail PSN and NOT my hotmail PSN. when i linked them it does it automatically without asking me to enter my account details. Your help would be really appreciated.

Try signing in with your hotmail PSN or Gmail PSN, if it starts the create account process or if you sign in and go to your account settings and you see your Xbox linked also. You'll know then. But don't create the account of course if that happens.

Have you tried a different browser? You may have your login information saved, so you'll either have to use another browser or clear your login information from the browser you are using.

  • No, it still is giving me the error. I have one opened in Firefox and another on Safari but still the problem persists.

  • That's what I've been doing. When I click unlink, it takes me to the Sony Entertainment Network site to sign into my PSN. I'll sign in, and it just brings me back to an error page on Bungie.net. I'm not signed into my Bungie.net through my PSN, I'm signed in through my Xbox Live account, so I dunno why it keeps giving me this error.

If your signed into your Xbox account, it shouldn't require you to log into your PSN account also, that's interesting. Could you try linking something else, like a Gmail account, then trying to unlink it?

  • Sure. I actually tested that just before you replied. I tried unlinking my facebook, and it asked me to log into of that as well, even though I'm logged in through my XBL.

Could you log into your Facebook and then try Unlinking your PSN? Which is your main login method?

What browser are you using? Also what error message is it giving you exactly? Could you possibly fill out a Bungie Bug Form Submission?

  • I've tried it on Google Chrome, and Fire Fox. It's the error where it's got the ape on a jet pack, saying 'That shouldn't be there, I'm out of here' Or something like that. It doesn't give an error code from what I remember.

Last thing, if you try and link your PSN account somewhere else? Does it give an error or anything? Perhaps it is unlinked already, but the sight is not reflecting that.

  • I'm having the same issue. I actually have 2 log ons. One for my Halo days which is linked through my XBL. I anticipated getting Destiny on PS3, so I started an account for it and linked in my PSN. I've tried both unlinking and linking it to the account I want to keep with no luck. It's a big discouraging that there's no email address or "contact us" link. With Destiny dropping in a few days, I already for see issues arising.

So just so I have everything clear... You have two separate accounts, one is your Microsoft account, that has been with you since halo? Now you have a PSN account, which you created here on Bungie and is separate from any other account?

  • One is a couple months old, the other is a year old. Two different ID #s but the same screen name(dumb, I know). You have it correct.

The usernames shouldn't affect it, as long as the emails and passwords are different? So you have linked a shell or dummy account to your months old account, what does it say when you try to unlink it Then?

  • It says: "You cannot unlink a PSN account that you are currently using to access Bungie.net. To continue, please sign out, then sign in using one of your other linked accounts and then attempt unlink procedures."
